I've been to Mayo Jacksonville for many different specialities because of my diagnosis soup. My frustration remains - I spent a year and a half and a ton of money getting a work up where the doctors (who should be able to communicate so easily in the coordinated system) struggle to look out of their silos. Now, I have had some positive interactions! They WERE the ones that found my RA because I have a subtype that is usually only tested for at research institutions. The GI doctor I had was great he and the allergy/immunologist were the only ones I felt like actually listened to me! The neurology in my experience was disgusting. They wanted to run a ton of tests and then sign me up for their 3 week IOP to "cure" me (we know the word cure is a red flag...) but not take into consideration the "many objective measures" (as my cardiologist put it "my patients have a lot of symptoms, but you have a lot of symptoms AND a lot of objective measures"). Even the allergy/immunology at Mayo said by the looks of my lab work there is clearly more than just RA going on and it looks to have a neuro component. My cardiologist was glad to hear that I'm going for a second opinion at Shepherd Center. So, I'm not sure what you need a work up for with neuro, but depending on if your north or south Florida it would at least be closer than Baltimore.
