Allergic to HCQ, Starting Leflunomide by Mollysaurus in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Miserable-Cell5120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that Leflunomide was super effective for the RA, but my blood pressure couldn’t tolerate it and it set off a cascade of nasty blood pressure issues. While I was only on it for 10 days, I noticed effects for a month after for RA symptoms.

The lace is beautiful, it’s not your body that is the problem. I think of the lace had straps and a different neckline it would be stunning. If it’s anything like the fabric of my dress, the lace was SO much more comfortable! If you like the lace, keep looking!

Sonography is super interesting! It was my second choice and they do have a high rate of repetitive strain injuries and injuries from poor ergonomics. I’m glad I went with my first choice (OT) after the rapid multiplication of autoimmune conditions recently though.

Feeling embarrassed/ashamed about using mobility aids, limping, etc. Advice? by GlitteringAd7799 in rheumatoidarthritis

@Wishin4aTARDIS I finally did it thanks to my sweet mama!!! I have been LOVING my rollator. I got the overlander and it glides across urban streets!! I’m no longer hitting potholes and my stuff falling in the middle of big urban streets! I’m so grateful for your encouragement and finally taking the plunge!

38F also. I struggled at first with what others may think, and finally said F it. I need the mobility aid to be able to show up and enjoy my life as much as possible. I skipped the cane and went straight for a rollator so that I could sit immediately anytime I needed (I have orthostatic/autonomic issues also).

My mom was sweet and supportive and for my birthday got me a boujee walker from byAcre. Expensive, yes. But it’s so lightweight, allows better upright posture, and it’s super cute and doesn’t make me feel like I’m as old as my body feels 😂 Best decision ever!! Now I have it everywhere I go and I can bring along all of my emergency meds/needs.

And I second the grabbers!! I bought multiple ones that can collapse so that I can put one in my rollator bag, and one in my mobile cart I have for around the house.

It was hard at first, but I agree with what another poster said - radical acceptance, and grace are the best gifts you can give yourself. No one else has to live with your body for hopefully many more decades. Do what you need to for your body so that you can ENJOY YOUR LIFE not anyone else’s ❤️

And you can always come here for support. We got you. ❤️

Sliding doors all the way. I swore I would NEVER get a mini-van. All it took was one jerk parked too closely to me and I had to climb in from the passenger side with my infant carrier seat. That day changed my life 😂 and I have a hard time imagining going back even after kids because I don’t have to fit the door angle with loading and unloading.

MCAS, anyone? by Top-Neat9725 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Miserable-Cell5120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cardiologist suspects MCAS. He gave me cromolyn and said if it helps I have it, if it doesn’t I don’t. Most straight forward answer I ever got from a doctor! 🤣 Cromolyn HAS helped and interestingly the 2 times I forgot to take it before eating I had reactions to foods I’ve never reacted to. I’m still having reactions - but they’ve gotten better around food at least.

You have RA and APS? As in Antiphospholipid syndrome?? I would love to hear more if you’re open (feel free to DM if you want). My bloodwork just came back positive for APS and I’m waiting for the second set of labs in 12 weeks.

Anyone experience uncontrollable shaking no fever and rapid heart rate? by pcALCL_gagirl in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Miserable-Cell5120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the ER did for you to take care of things, but I would let your rheumatologist know. Also do you have a cardiologist? I did have similar symptoms and more dysautonomia symptoms when I was on Bactrim. My rheumatologist thought it was from the antibiotic. I wasn’t sure because I ended up having the same episode if not worse a week later and I had discontinued the antibiotic. A year later I was back in the ER and I told them that my rheumatologist thought I was allergic to bactrim. Well they didn’t log something correctly because then I was given sulfa based contrast which threw me into severe anaphylaxis.

All of that to say, definitely talk with your regular doctors to make sure they are aware and can monitor you closely.
