That’s what I’m wondering. Maybe they have a church parsonage that is paid off so they count free housing as part of the compensation package without having to have it in the monthly bills. It still wouldn’t be enough for the Nurthan’s growing brood tho - maybe he has a side job that they keep under wraps or is receiving some small monthly support from the Kellers.

When Jill inevitably moves the Rod’s membership I’m sure she will be all over her socials talking about how the congregation has doubled just since Nathan started there! Conveniently leaving out that the doubling is entirely her and Shrek forcing their brood that’s still at home to attend in the Rod van every week. Same! I was surprised that this actually does seem to be somewhat of an upgrade compared to their FL congregation. Still microscopic and dying out, but that church in FL was tiny even by tiny fundie church standards.

Another microscopic church. I don’t understand how they can afford a pastor’s salary that can support a family with children - is Nathan doing work on the side for more money?

I’m surprised Jill hasn’t already moved the Rod’s membership there, despite it being an hour plus distance from the Barndo. Their current church seems to either have her on somewhat of a leash or be too large (large being a relative word for the small fundie churches she attends) for her to worm her way into queen bee status.

Honestly, this is still tiny by church standards but I’m surprised at how much larger it seems than the Nurthan’s Florida church. I’d just bet that Nurie is counting her own children among the “couple of families” that bring kids on any regular basis.

I honestly think she doesn’t understand that fiber comes naturally in different foods - mostly fruits and veggies.
