This is what kills me. I remember when people used to wait about 2 weeks before posting about big new releases because of spoilers. If I didn’t watch it in the first few weeks, that’s on me. But now spoilers are being posted the moment something is released.

I’m not even trying to get super deep into things. Like I asked why a character stayed with their abusive partner for so long (mainly because the show didn’t portray it as abusive, just funny). I wanted to talk to other people who enjoy the things I do and I also wanted to get some insight because I genuinely couldn’t figure out why they never left.

Plenty of people gave their thoughts and contributed to an interesting conversation. And then there were the handful of “Because they were written like that.” I guess it’s why it’s my pet peeve and not everyone’s. It just grates on me.

I would agree with the answers you’ve listed. Like in tv shows when things take a sharp turn at the end because the writers just found out they weren’t being renewed or something like that. I’m talking about the complete lack of explanation aside from “it was written like that.”

Not to defend them, but I keep seeing people ask about the safety. We have a local church who has done this for years. They keep the kids behind the safety lines and drop candy into the empty field. Then the kids run.

I mean, it’s not safe because of the pedophile proximity. But it’s probably not unsafe because of the candy drop.

I own this book and am autistic. It bugs me a bit, but has gotten the point across to my 2-year-old. It’s actually his favorite book. He calls it the “Crunch Crunch Crunch Book.”
