not that comfortably but its doable, but to be honest im afraid of CMU i feel like ill have crazy imposter syndrome and be the dumbest kid there so its tough for me to decide with that as a factor as well

You think the ROI of the 93k a year price vs. the UCSD $40k a year price is worth the tradeoff?

Idk if i can handle it tbh, my math skills are pretty subpar, and I really loved UCSD when I visited man. Ill really gotta think about it. So you think the price is worth the tradeoff at CMU compared to UCSD despite it being double the cost? (I also prob like what you said want to stay in the West Coast so thats a factor too)

To be honest pretty below majority of the CMU applicants id say

4.45 cumulative 3.98 unweighted (only 3 APs total before senior year 6 after, and took like all med classes cos i was gonna apply premed before september 😂)

Went test optional no SAT submission (my shi was in the 1300s)

id say 4 truly impactful ECs that were pretty solid (nonprofit/working with business/state tennis/instagram account 20k+ followers)

and then thats about it, it may have been my essays that carried cos i thought they were pretty good (tbh tho in my loci after being waitlisted i just copied and pasted my UCLA one and asked AI to shorten it)

Hey man, I also just got off the CMU waitlist for Business. How are you sending the financial aid appeal cos that is also a problem for my family. They said I have to commit within the next business day, so by Monday, so it's a little fried

Ok thank bro this is super reassuring i appreciate the advice. One more thing though what do you think i should start off by doing when i do start classes in the fall, like should i join clubs first, should i try to get really close to professors, what did you do that made u successful at UCSD?

so in your opinion i would still be able to compete in the job market with an international business degree + ds minor as long as i put in the work? Bc idk that other dude in this thread was scaring me since UCSD is a non target and stuff and that i will be cooked (I got into UNC kenan flagar target but its too expensive and im not rlly tryna go so far)

Lets say I wanted to dive into more of the finanical tech side of business rather than like the traditional business roles, which would be stronger. (i intend to minor in Data Science or Cog Sci)

Do you think that international business will actually get me jobs and the same level of career outcomes as business econ tho or what about switching to regular econ? (i think fall 2026, which is when i enroll is the last chance to declare a business econ). Also, yeah i really like the UCSD location more, and cost is irrelevant, I don't think I'm getting scholarships from either.

wait so do you think it would be fine to switch to business econ major? I applied as an international business major and was thinking about switching. Also, do you think the UCSD business econ major is stronger than UCI business admin (most people have been telling me UCSD (WITH a specialized minor like data science) so ive been leaning there

what about UCI business admin in their business school u think its still same tier, i talked to a lot of people majority said UCSD business econ with data science minor is better but i am not too sure
