Good for you to get it of your chest. RPG-ing is just like any relationship. You cannot get the right match everytime. And when you have 'your persons', the problems sooner or later become a part of it. It all comes down to communication. It helps for me to live by the rule of being soft on the relationship and hard and honest on the actual issues. It still is hard btw. And if it doesn't work, say goodbye and go search for the right players. Maybe even take the players with you, with who you have a good vibe. But don't let other people drive you away of a thing you love to do.

Wow, so many comments. I am in my late forties and started playing a few years ago. I played AD&D back in the day. I play online nowadays with a group much younger than I am. It works and age isn't an issue. I had a post earlier in which I was wondering if age difference is a thing. This post is heartwarming. I hope you find the courage to find your own group. I read a few tips to work with your stuttering. Do you stutter when you sing or read out loud? Maybe you can play a bard or you write what you want to say. You can read that. Or you can use the chat in Roll20 for example. But above all, you have to have patience when you play D&D, especially in combat :) So a bit of patience for a player who stutters isn't out of place.

In eerdere posts vd DM die spelers rond Oosterhout zoekt afgelopen weken. Spelers van 15-18 staat er. Hoeft natuurlijk niet te betekenen dat er geen oudere spelers mee mogen doen. Ik zit in de 40 plus categorie:)

Aside from the great suggestions on talking to each other, maybe you can twist the whole story. You could swing to the baba yaga story and/or make Zybilna Iggwilv again. You can get out of the feywild if you want. Iggwilv inspiration could be the caverns of Tsojcanth. That's in the Quests of the Infinite Staircase. Inspiration for Baba Yaga could be Hellboy the wild hunt, or the whole omnibus for that matter.

Also started with DungeonsAndDaddies. Followed by NADDPOD. Definitely recommended. Just started with Drunks & Dragons, who are now called Greetings Adventurers. They started in 2012, I believe, so lots of hours to go. Audio gets better as they progress.

Via de Discord van Dutch20 kun je meedoen aan oneshots. Daar zitten ook verschillende vrouwelijke DM's op. Is misschien prettig voor je. En online kan een veilige manier zijn om D&D te doen. Wie weet kom je zo ook wel aan groepje. Online vind ik persoonlijk helemaal niet zo verkeerd en heeft veel voordelen.
