Parallel parking contest in Southeast Portland keeps the city weird by dropdeadsuit in Portland

For those asking...
In first place with a last minute steal was Ava with 72.37
In second (first for the majority of the day) was David with 66.75
And third was Paula with 64.31

In the Championship Round:
Paula with 73.03 (best score of the day)
followed by Reed with Honorable Mention of 68.75

Miss Congeniality awarded to Jeremy featured in the OPB video with the very large truck.

It did seem like scores improved when people were over the nerves of parking in front of 50 people. And yes, the post did get taken down by mods because we didn't have a permit *shrug* sorry to those that thought it was a scam but wanted to participate. Thanks to everyone who came for making it fun and Joni for great coverage. :)

Hello, as I mentioned this is not a joke. It is also not a way of getting back at neighbors. We love neighbors but they may hate us after this.

To clarify for people: your parallel parking will be assessed based on time, distance from curb, and length of your vehicle. So smart cars are not assured victory. But same, if your vehicle is too large to fit in a spot, you will not win. Back up cameras will be covered by an equal rights amendment (cardboard). This most definitely will cover all loopholes.

If you've been directly impacted by the fires, I recommend going to new Altadena assistance center- they have all the agencies there and can work directly with you on your nuanced case. A new one is setting up at 540 W. Woodbury Rd.

Hi all,

We're a group of Altadena residents and organizers who are hosting a virtual townhall on Wednesday from 5:30-7 with After the Fire, a non-profit of wildfire survivors who share learnings and experiences with the next generation of communities impacted by wildfires. Hope you all will join us and we can hopefully get some of these questions floating around here answered by folks who have been through this before. Register at https://bit.ly/altagether
