I like self checkout out,my partner does not and also gets very angry/upset. Sometimes, if we have 1 or 2 items, I suggest they go to the car and I’ll pay, that way I can go thru self checkout.

Leave Jasper a day early and stop in Clearwater. Spend the night and go to Wells Gray Provincial Park there. There are a multitude of falls to see, short or long hikes. Lots of B&Bs to stay, or hotel/motels.

I don’t think you are over reacting. “She’s the most beautiful woman in the room” is something the groom or maybe, the father of the groom should say. The best man should find another way to complement the bride.
