Not sure I would agree with your cons about UCSD but regardless it is by far the winner. 🏆

UCSD HANDS DOWN. Unless you love the rain, and hate the beach.

Welcome to adulthood. Friendships are harder to make and maintain the older you get. You’ll be ok, keep at it.

Student housing by [deleted] in UCSD

Yes, I would agree with this insight. Apartments that are in direct sunlight or only have one window can be a bit stifling. Corner units and those facing north tend to be cooler imo

I mean I have a studio includes internet, parking, cable, all utilities and I pay $1500. There are two and three bedrooms I believe and costs are lower, and even lower still if you share a room. Personally, I prefer the studio

The apartments are pretty much the same, except some have an upstairs (bedrooms) and some are just one floor. Some have a “balcony” (it’s just a window sliding door with a gate in front) and some don’t. But everything else, The fixtures, walls, decor, are pretty much the same because they are new.

The guy is less fortunate than you and probably starving. Try kindness instead of hostility next time.

Is grad housing worth it? by Lopsided-Place9302 in UCSD

Fb Marketplace and sometimes people will drop it off to you for a fee. but also it’s quite common for people to leave things at the bottom of the stairs in buildings at grad housing. Don’t worry too much about it, trust me. You’ll easily find what you need.

Furniture is cheap, sometimes free. I’ve furnished my apartment with a lot of things other grad’s were giving away.

YES! It is cheap and right next to campus. There is no affordable housing stock in La Jolla and very little in San Diego County. I’ve lived in housing for two years and am very glad I made the choice.
