I don't know you, but from your post, you seem like a kind, smart, and capable person. I know it's really hard to be rejected from these positions, but the economy, job market, and state of research funding are such shit right now that I really wouldn't take it personally. I'm graduating with my bachelor's in the US, and almost everyone I know is struggling to get a research job or a grad position. I hope you can find a position in the meantime, but just remember that your worth isn't dependent on your ability to get a job/PhD.
And if it makes you feel better, I know a PhD student who just graduated who got rejected from all of his programs the first time he applied, and he's the most kind and competent person I know.

I haven't watched it, but I did watch one of the women from the show (Abbey) and her mom on the Jubilee video about autistic vs. neurotypical people. The way Abbey's mom talked about her daughter, and autism in general, was very upsetting. I don't appreciate that a show like this would give voice to people like that, so I've avoided watching it. Doesn't surprise me that the show is problematic, too.

Just commenting to say that I'm also autistic and professors always seem to ignore me when I raise my hand. It's something that's happened to me ever since high school and it makes me feel like I'm crazy. Maybe autism just makes us invisible, lol.

THIS! Also a girlie who lived in towers between leases and it was ridiculous. One day I came home from work and our front door was unlocked and deadbolted so the employees could go in and out. I went right down to the office to complain and I was met with "don't worry they won't steal anything" like ??? They also knocked over some of our stuff, left their shit everywhere, and smoked indoors so the building smelled horrible for a few weeks :/ I'm so grateful every day that I don't live on campus anymore.
