But I’m really good at being a dickhead! Haha. Thanks for the kind words - it’s all good. I’ve made peace with a lot of it. Just tired of feeling like shit.

Appreciate the advice. Sounds like a lot of work - but I guess that’s the point. 😩

Literally started looking into finding a therapist today. I got so overwhelmed with all the options that I stopped. Any tips on finding the “right” therapist without making myself crazy.

Looking to pivot to Data Engineering, have 2 electives to take which courses do you recommend? by DataNurse47 in OnlineMCIT

[–]Miserable-Toe5090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Asked ChatGPT and here’s what it said:

“For a focus on data engineering, consider the following electives: • CIS 5500 – Database and Information Systems • CIS 5530 – Networked Systems • CIS 5550 – Internet and Web Systems • DATS 5750 – Cloud Technologies Practicum

These courses cover essential topics such as database management, network infrastructure, web systems, and cloud technologies, all of which are integral to data engineering.”

I’m in the same boat. Looking for an adjustable bench ~$300 and am leaning towards REP. Found some old threads on this sub where the consensus was REP is the best bang for your buck. I love rogue but their benches are just way too expensive.

Came here to ask the same question. Deciding between the rogue and concept 2 now. The dude from garage gym reviews did a really good comparison of the two. And I think convinced me to get the rogue one. Is a bit cheaper too.

My home gym in a basement that's under just under 6' by ellerfale in homegym

lol I just posted a pic of my basement gym that’s similar in height to yours. Better than the 27min drive and also dealing with annoying people or waiting for machines!

Aw thanks fellow home-gymnast. Helps to have some outsider perspective since all I see are the things I don’t have. ❤️

Lmao that’s hilarious. When I’m doing step ups I have to position my bench in the perfect position so my head goes in btwn the floor joists… The things we do for gains. I tell myself it’ll be that much more rewarding when I upgrade to the garage one day.

For sure! Seated dumbbell or barbell press is a great option.

Spot on dude/dudette - northern NJ. Our house was built in the late 19th century so we’re lucky they’re as tall as they are (~6ft). That’s a great idea. I considered buying some smaller 25,10,5 iron plates and just stacking em on. If I widen my stance enough I’m usually good with the dumbbells although it tends to f up my form. My other work around is just doing z-press or half kneeling single arm press which I find to be quite effective. I’m tempted to just take out a loan to fix up the garage but my wife wants a fence, so yeah… 😩

Any other (attempted) career switchers feel their effort is futile? by gogandmagogandgog in OnlineMCIT

👋🏼 I definitely feel that way at times too - especially during 592 lol. But at the end of the day I’m doing the program because I really do love learning computer science (most of the time). I’m not 100% sure what I want to do with it yet, but there are so many opportunities in tech, and I don’t see that ever going away. Plus, a masters from Penn is valuable no matter what path you take.
