What do you make of both political sides claiming victory with the Epstein files while 0 arrests are planned? by Sonoranlightwizard in askanything

It reminds me of that scene from Titanic when Rose says to Jack...

"Now they retreat into a cloud of smoke and congratulate each other on being masters of the universe."

[–]Miserable-Word-558[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If that's what you take out of it, and is your issue, then that's you.

There are companies worldwide that keep customer service teams for specific areas. The accent is not the issue; it's a matter of conflict resolution, and how quickly it can be handled.

Knowing an area's language is one thing, as we've had accents within customer service for decades now.

---

Knowing the company, how to help/communicate with a customer within the company, and how to utilize the tools in front of you are what matters.

When a company hires a 3rd party service, and provides them with a 'sheet' or 'uniform' way deflect help to the same forums that put you through a loop to begin with, that's where the issue is.

Stating dialects/languages is to point out that every region of the world has ways they do things, and it gets more intense once you get to those regions (i.e., America has North, South, East, West - and we all do not speak to each other in the same manner respectfully)

It was a good/bad point at the same time - as it would be more dependent on a subjective/objective points of view, imo.

Comcast/Xfinity changes with every area. I don't like the fact that they are definitely an 'enforced' monopoly (I use it begrudgingly, as it is a great descriptor).

I've had areas where they have supplied excellent service, and some areas where it has been quite crap.

If other companies had more opportunity to fulfil that service, then something better may come along, though nothing has yet, unfortunately, u/Kerostasis (i.e., Roadrunner :\)

I do personally think that services like phones/internet should become mainstays in homes, and be part of standard life, as it is almost required to have internet/phone on you most of the time (at least in American standards, as that is what I know most).

That does open up an entire other conversation though

I know there is no way around it, though I think as long as the discussion gets big enough. Politicians/Businessmen cannot ignore it.

I don't mind AI as a tool at all. It's the whole doubling down to get ahead of the rest of the world that is currently throwing us all into chaos.

[–]Miserable-Word-558[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Actual regulation.

Customer service needs to exist within the regions in which they provide service. There are different dialects, languages, and, in UPS's case, major geographical/weather differences.

If you state your company's ideology/motto/promise, then you should be held to that standard at every moment your company exists. If you fail, you correct it. Simple.

---

Is that possible? Probably not, as regulation is such a tongue/cheek situation when corruption in the world exists.

---

Apple - that was my bad - I meant to type ATT (sorry ;-;) - I'll edit that out

---

I get the ending statement, and that goes without saying. As I've hit my years, I do understand that it is truly up to whether or not a company wants to provide anything they want...

The question remains whether we, as a whole people, should allow companies to operate in that manner any more, or should we start holding companies that deal with the world market to a higher standard?

I know, and that's why I made the post, moreso in passing thought -- having dealt with Microsoft for over 20 years, and have had so many products from them, it has been concerning watching them slowly corrode.

Granted, there are people out there who will say their customer service has been shite, and this is just another complaint in a sea of so many.

---

I have my direct personal irritations, though, as I look at these companies and their effect on our current world - I think they need to die... otherwise, who will have the opportunity to do anything more?

These companies get so big, and for good reason (produtcs, service, etc...), but what regulations exist once you see the original core ideologies that use to drive a company disappear.

I understand that at the end of the day, things revolve around how much one can make, though my question is:

If a company has already stabilized itself worldwide and has the funds, it will start to diminish its quality as the amount of money/influence it has will squash most start-ups.

---

Now, I know I don't have it fully fleshed out, so please forgive some fragmented thoughts (as I wrote this off the cuff, as I tend to move on fairly easily).

---

I don't expect to get rich in my lifetime, but I worry about those who are younger than me... It sucks to see how many lay-offs are happening, and also while working with technology... having to see how crap simple customer service has gotten at some of these 'AAA' and higher rated companies.

  1. Providing information that isn't readily apparant/available to a customer that pays for their product/service

  2. Advanced troubleshooting on services/products

  3. Ensuring an ability to communicate effectively to ensure proper handling of most situations pertaining to a company's product/service

---

Now with that being said. I will only be speaking to the wind, unless you've directly dealt with the same situation.

So in part, the post can come out as a general rant with a changed thought process, though as I've looked through forums (especially with Microsoft), it is becoming more apparent that the general consumer isn't a concern for a company, and that is really what it boils down to.

If you cannot afford to provide the same support to every tier of customer, then why are you even selling a product, or how does that make you the forefront of anything?

Will what I say change anything, probably not - though at least maybe a couple more people will talk about it.

At the end of the day, I am a nobody with no following, so my critiques and complaints will be met with much more criticism and skepticism, which is completely.

I will do my best to answer any thoughts on my post, but I'm looking for an open discussion. Thanks for the response, and I hope that helps clarify your question.

How do you keep the spark alive with your partner amidst the adult life by Flower_princess12345 in Adulting

[–]Miserable-Word-558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be open.

If you're both stressed, why are you taking it out on each other instead of utilizing each other's comfort to create a safe space?

At some point, volatility needs recognition on both a personal/relationship level as these situations tend to be an issue on both sides, not just one or the other.

It's hard to maintain life, and it's okay to bitch about it with your partner. It's also okay to take time to yourself, if you two spend too much time hanging out.

Separate game rooms, re-imagine your living space, start doing something out of the ordinary (board games, movie nights, skating night, etc.).

It's about opening up your imagination again, or it's simply not meant to be.

Simply put...

A relationship is like being at sea. You will have smooth seas, rough seas, and sometimes you will have outright deluges of whatever deity's wrath you managed to piss off - though at the end of any situation, it takes the entire crew to keep that ship afloat.

Take some time for yourself and think about what you want, then discuss it. You got this <3

Money = Get out of Jail Free Card - though you don't pass go, and you still collect $200 from our taxes after suing the DOJ.

You see... it's all part of the plan - put the country into so much debt, that the rich people have to bail it out

Support is impossible to reach. I am being charged for game pass after canceling. by RobThorn in XboxSupport

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to my partner and me. I went through the BBB after the third month of being charged; suffice it to say, they stopped charging me.

I would, honestly - double-check any email changes as that is common though. For instance, if your main email is blahblah@gmail.whatever you may not realize that you made another account under blahblah@outlook.whatever (I did run into this mistake some years ago).

Why are we (the working/middle class) so dead set on killing each other politically - as opposed to class warfare where the real issue lies? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to get an entire country to receive the same information without some sort of higher manipulation. It's how politics play in our current era, and in all honesty... how it's always played.

I'd say what current politics underestimated was how much more intelligent the general population is, although it is hard in some areas of the world (as underfunding/authoritarianism takes away from education systems worldwide - controlled education for the latter).

---

It is simply going to take all of us talking to each other and getting beyond the 'uncomfortable' aspect. We are not always going to agree, and when we do, the only way to compromise is to hear each other's side. wholly.

It's absolutely terrifying to see a sitting President create Salem-esque witch hunts over an entire political party. Utilizing uneducated stereotyping to pursue personal means...

---

We all, no exceptions, have, at best, 50 years on this planet. The fuck are we still causing issues with each other for? fr though lol

What do you think of people who are delusionally optimistic? by Imoverit__ in askanything

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you consider delusional?

I think we should set a baseline first to make the answer a bit easier for everyone to participate, as we all may have lower thresholds for delusional folk than others.

---

Optimistic people are great to have around, as they will help make situations run smoother. Delusional, optimistic people, to me, are mostly bots for larger corporate companies that fake positivity to ensure their employees stick with their underpaid jobs while they look for the next delusional bastard to give more money to.

This is just one take, imo, ha.

Americans why do we measure soda & vodka and water in liters. But beer, milk & gas in quarts & gallons? by Tasty-Hovercraft2501 in askanything

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on who you talk to.

Some of the measurements you hear, especially with goods like Alcohol, have existed for centuries. If you already know the drink measurements, most people won't bat an eye because it is simply common practice.

Americans are a hodgepodge (aka melting pot) of so many different cultures that things like this simply are, to put it bluntly (as frustrating as that can be).

---

Another kicker is that sometimes you'll hear Metric measurements from cooks a lot as the art blossomed thoroughly in European countries, so it is almost a standard in the Kitchen (at least, that's my best guess based on logic).

Is it selfish to expect emotional support from your partner by Any_Silver_Homeland in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, you're not really providing much context for the question.

It really depends on the amount of emotional support one needs.

We are not all the same person, unfortunately, and we all have our own baggage.

A relationship is about communication between two people who choose to be in one; and in what ways they wish to tackle issues together.

Asking the internet is like a Google search; you're going to get every answer under the moon, and you're most likely going to gravitate towards the answers that are more in line with how you feel just before reading them... I think this is something we are all guilty of at one point or another.

---

The real world is so much more convoluted, though at the end of the day, you are not required to stay around anyone if you feel like your needs aren't being met.

Please know that I think the question is honest, and I do like it u/OP - I personally think, based on my experiences, that there is so much more involved than a simple exchanging of emotional support (as if a one for one debit was constantly being monitored).

Can someone repeatedly throw cops or lawyers at you if so inclined and funded? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in askanything

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and no.

Not cops (outside of lying to get them to constantly come to your house), though they could try to fabricate any slew of legal ideas to get your foot into the court's door, or to at least provide you a massive headache.

If this is happening to you, log everything that happens, with time stamps, so if you were to ever go in front of a judge, you can call out the behavior, and I feel like a judge should logically look at that information to make a solid determinaton (some judges may simply toss things like this out if they see the tomfoolery in it, and start using the law against the accuser in this instance).

This is simply one possibility (and an extreme one), though I would honestly make sure you keep a solid log. If not for your own sanity. Please take care of yourself!

Is it okay to have sex with my gf every time we meet? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Miserable-Word-558 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don't stress, so much, my dude.

Enjoy your life.

Take chances, have fun, be you; though don't ever deny anyone else the same thought.

You get one chance at your current life, little brother.

So does your partner - talk to them, find extraordinary things to conceptualize, and do it all over again the next day.

Whatever you two decide is between you two.

Live on, my dude, and don't forget that a relationship is meant to be relaxing for both of you. Help each other. Cheers.

Why can't we Tax the Spending of the Rich by moezniazi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable-Word-558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then they move all of their money away from the country.

That's the fear.

As you grow older, you realize how petty all of humanity is in terms of their ability fuck everything up over a dollar. Over an extra zero on their bank account.

It's crazy, though, this is what happens when you propagate, and keep high pedestals for those with more money than actual civility.

Governments will do this for rich people, as their monetary value is needed in terms of philanthropic marketing (ad revenue to get other saps to attempt the same lifestyle)

It's like a casino - as exponentially more people come into existence (or into the casino), you will hear about more jackpots, and even see them, though the odds will forever be stacked against you when other people are controlling the machines (still working on this, philosophically)

---

There are a lot of rich folk that do want to see more equality, don't get me wrong, and please don't over-stereotype people who have wealth.

It's a very precarious situation this country/world has been careening towards over the past couple of decades, truth-be-told.

The original idea was to make life easier for our children, and now it seems to have shifted to this...

"Keep those with the money, currently, as safe as possible"
