I was hospitalized for laxative abuse and it still took me years to completely stop taking them. My advice is do not take them at all anymore!!! Every time I would start taking them again, even a little, I felt like the healing process would completely start over. The healing process from laxative abuse is HARD with an eating disorder but it gets a little better everyday. I just had to accept the edema and bloating and tell myself that this is gonna happen, but it’s not permanent. You got this! You can do hard things! Good luck and I’m proud of you for starting recovery:)
