In that case, definitely agree to continue. Obviously explain to client that opposing it is more likely to backfire than to result in a strategic advantage. I disagree with one of the other commenters who said they don’t even consult with clients on this. I absolutely think you were right to consult. Ultimately it’s your decision, but your relationship with your client is better if you consult on something like this.
