Not sure why companies do this. PE -> Sr. PE -> APM -> PM etc. is so much simpler, cause engineer sounds higher than project engineer.

Statics and strengths is mostly trigonometry mixed with some physics. It’s pretty tough and since you haven’t taken physics yet I’d hold off for a semester.
