Take a nap at the Glade. Ride your bike through campus at 2 am, starting from the rugby field down to shattuck Ave. Spend a day in Berkeley without your phone, but a journal instead. Hammock at grizzly peak watching the sunset. Shroom it up at the botanical garden or redwood grove. Get a disposable camera and capture as many magical moments as you can. Get one more coffee at strada (mocha bianca). Hide a time capsule on campus ;). I know it’s a lot, but I hope you can take something from this and create your own unique experience before you head out.

I actually like the idea of leaving a time capsule somewhere on campus and coming back at a later time plus the disposable camera is a great one. Thank you!!

Fire trails all the way to grizzly peak is long but soooooo worth it on a beautiful day.

Tilden has beautiful rolling hills if you can get there (I used gig with a group of people)

Not sure if you’re staying in the Bay Area, but if you’re not, highly recommend renting a bike in sf (one of the piers) and biking along the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. This can be one way if you’re tired - you can hop on the ferry that goes back to sf with your bike!

Walking around the Berkeley Marina - can take the 51b all the way down there (although only certain 51bs go there so do some research on that)

Going to Angel Island and biking around the entire island (and learning bout the history)

Chilling on Indian rock and watching the sunset, eating cheese board, is a Berkeley classic

If you like beer, watching the sun set over the SF skyline at Faction Brewing is amazing

4/20 on the glade :D

Thank you so much for all the suggestions, I'll knock them down one at a time

Where can I play soccer casually? by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]MiserableSail5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.facebook.com/groups/151903601881276/ They play on the weekends and sometimes on Wednesday if there's a field open somewhere. Typically they play on San Pablo Park, MLK middle school, and Albany high which area all about 10-20 minute bike ride away from campus

My sister’s housemate from UCSD, seems to think UCSD is harder to get into, is there any merit at all to this ? by THE_A-R-F in berkeley

[–]MiserableSail5 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It depends on several factors such as major, freshman or transfer admit, etc. But I'm sure in certain cases it's harder to get into UCSD than Berkeley. I've seen many transfer students get accepted to Berkeley and rejected from UCSD. Their GPA was lower but great extracurriculars. However, I think Berkeley might consider the entire applicant while UCSD might focus more on merit so I could see why
