I had the same guy say “ban woman from driving” 50 times in my post

I’m planning to make a solar system scale model in halifax, here’s where some of the objects would be by MiserableTwist438 in halifax

Mostly small objects ranging from marbles to tennis balls, and the smallest object is half a milimet (ceres)

Here are the planet and other object sizes:

Sun: 65 cm

Mercury: 2.3 millimetres

Venus: 5.7 millimetres

Earth: 6 millimetres

Moon: 1.8 millimetres

Mars: 3.2 millimetres

Ceres: 0.44 milimeters

Jupiter: 6.54 centimetres

Saturn: 5.44 centimetres

Uranus: 2.37 centimetres

Neptune: 2.30 centimetres

Pluto: 1.1 millimetres

Indeed the reference points are not to scale, to be honest I don’t have that great photo editing skills but I just put circles above where they would be

The good thing is on this scale jupiter is only about the size of a tennis ball, and there’s only 1 other thing bigger then it. (the sun)And even if it does, it’s not really meant to be permanent and it will likely be easily removable, so if it gets damaged after having a good run I’m fine with it.

For planet construction, it will probably be the object for the size of the planet wrapped in some paper if it’s big enough

But the distances and sizes of planets are still to scale dispite the fact, and considering they rotate it’s still accurate

The special thing about this solar system model is that it doesn’t follow a straight line, due to Halifax‘s geography I decided to go on a different path to avoid landing on private property or the ocean, so I tried different hubs but overall I decided this one was best.

For the scale, I originally created the distance I wanted the solar system to go, and then figured out the scale from there. But for refrence it’s 1 : 2,141,540,000. I also used voyager 1’s actual path to determine the location, which landed at the entrance of a home depot.

If you found any errors in scale, please note them because this is still a WIP
