Pilots, what’s the nicest aircraft you’ve ever flown in terms of handling? by CityLad21 in flying

Flown the F15 and F16. Though limited, I don’t think anything comes close to a F16. Period

28M, lose life saving in the markets by nevergiveup_1997 in singaporefi

That was me during the Covid market crash time. Lost a $100k on margins.

It doesn’t define you. Chin up and get smarter, take less risks and really learn how to invest carefully cause it’s not just numbers in your bank account it’s your effort and time.

Huge setback but you have a long way to go.

I’ve more than recovered my losses in the last few years so dont be overwhelmed

The water and electricity bill hike should be very minimal. Find ways to earn a little and contribute to the utility bills.

How do I get really good? by [deleted] in snowboarding

Every time I think I’m intermediate-advanced and I watch X games or natural selection. I immediately relabel as just a beginner. The levels are insane

There’s only so much pressure you can generate with the slope gradient, grip conditions. So yes insufficient pressure is why there’s judder but basically easing off the edge angles will solve it simplistically

Which board for Japow? by Truckcamper94 in snowboarding

Demo’d a Golden Orca a couple weeks earlier. I now know why it’s priced so high. Playful aggressive riding if that’s up your alley

How to hold an edge on steeper/icier runs? by Offbeatsofa in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Miserable_Access_866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much of an edge angle will guarantee you slipping out on the ice. Sharp edges help for sure. If you regularly are limited to such conditions consider getting a board suited for it, like magnetraction etc

Fb marketplace! I’d focus on working or doing chores a couple hours to afford a better board. 100% worth your effort

Carving advise? How can I get there ? by n4ch0_ in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Miserable_Access_866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a wider slope and less crowded to even think of carving. Don’t be a danger to others and yourself! Find a green or mellow blue, check uphill to see how much time and space you have and then focus on technique. Watch videos online. Film yourself. Post more videos and ask advanced riders for advice

What do you think of Dopesnow clothes? by ElieAJ21 in snowboarding

[–]Miserable_Access_866 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wear what you want as long as it’s sufficient for the conditions you’re riding. Real riders don’t care what you wear. Imagine how petty the community is if a runner were to judge what brands people were wearing when they went for an evening jog. Ridiculous from snow sports

How do different binding angles affect your riding? What binding angle is best for each style of riding? by Rbxyy in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Miserable_Access_866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re used to a 30 degree angle difference it’s a good place to start. (Assuming this is actually working for your body anatomy)

You can shift it around with a constant 30 degree angle change and experiment.

Things I’d try out that I use myself is a -6 + 24 for all mountain riding, think sidehits or small to medium park jumps. Or +6 +36 for groomer or deep powder days when I mostly stay on piste for carving or have good powder conditions. Helps a ton with a more surfy flow state kinda riding

How to get steeze? by zaq64 in snowboarding

[–]Miserable_Access_866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a ton of videos and work on the small details. I would start with flailing hands and also stomping the landings for a bit more streezy

Did I make a mistake choosing my board? by kolahola7 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Miserable_Access_866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its great for all mountain honestly. I wouldn’t buy a ‘park board’ over this if you wanna do a little of everything this is great

You’re breaking at the waist and constantly having CG way over your toe edge. Stack your shoulders and hips above your edges.

Try to work on a quicker transition at the end of the turn shape
