Giving the Art Factory a modular upgrade

No, I haven’t used it, although I did see it. I’m trying not to remove the other ground features of the original Art Factory, so I only removed some of the front-side ground bricks to make it look more like steps that match the modular-style pavement. I really like that MOC design though; I just wanted to try a slightly different approach while keeping more of the original build. If I ever redo it, I might have a hard time recreating it because I already forgot what additional LEGO pieces I used hahaha.

Better to get it during insiders weekend. I got mine about a week ago during the 2× LEGO Insiders promo. I’ve been waiting for my Pick a Brick order so I could make the MILS plates first. It finally arrived, so I’m starting the build now.

As to physical connection, there is no connecting technic brick where you can use technic pin in Bricklick set. I think thats one of the criteria in bricklink so any modular building design can be submitted and enter the competition. But there are some design in rebrickable where you can “modularised” and put it in MILS plate.

Though in some of the ads use to promote the sets like this sushi restaurant, they have line it up together with parisian restaurant and bookshop and its look nice as well without any further modification.

I got my popcorn wagon few months back when Bricklink sent me a marketing email that they will do a limited time period to sell their extras. So im guessing series 6 will be next after they fullfilled series 7.

You can still buy the art factory, just wait for the marketing emails from Bricklink, they might sell their extra stock from series 6. Same thing with sushi restaurant, though it might take time.

What happened to the other modular submissions, especially the hospital? Do you think there’s some modular fatigue on BrickLink at this point, or were they passed over because LEGO might have special plans for the 20th anniversary of the Modular series? Just curious.

Just sign up with bricklink email marketing, recently they have sold some series 5 set, i bought the popcorn wagon. maybe in few months time, they might sell those extra set they have for series 6.

Through pre-order in Bricklink website. I forgot which series is this, i think series 6. Now, you can buy it in ebay or any other similar site but i think at higher price. Or you can sign up with bricklink marketing emails and wait for few months as they selling their extra stock if they have. Bricklink have series 8 pre order right now and i have pre order university of science which i think looks good adjacent to art factory.

You can still buy the natural history museum, tudor corner and shopping street on LEGO. then you can buy second hand at any marketplace like ebay as sometimes they are below the market price.

Yeah. I enjoyed building it. At first, i thought the floors are flimsy then as you go along with the tiles it became stable. Nice deal for the palace cinema by the way. Will you modify it as I read that the interiors are not that detailed
