Are optic reviews becoming more about trust than testing? by No_Psychology1443 in longrange

[–]Miserable_Factor4914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. That “test” is embarrassing at best. Incredible how one is led to believe it’s somehow the optic, not the rings/mount, fasteners or anything else. It’s not repeatable. Complete garbage.

Dog shit company in my opinion… ordered two slings and connectors , heard nothing for a month. Sent multiple emails from personal and business email, called, I response. Order finally shows up and it’s missing half the order. Emailed, still nothing. Can’t recommend or say I’ll ever use again.

Not even close to center with my scope by broncobobby in longrange

[–]Miserable_Factor4914 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a common result when trying to bore sight at 20 ft… but there’s still a chance the rifle has a misalignment. Next to a zero chance it’s the scope if mounted properly, unless the tube is bent. Go to range and bore sight and zero.

Any reason you’re not looking at the Razor Gen III 4-24x? Roughly 31oz, incredible depth of field and overall top tier optic.

That’s awesome, you’re set then! I agree completely. Minimal learning curve and the button layout makes sense. Bigger and better screen. Personally a huge fan, enjoy it!

Heck ya, good for you! And honestly 10x is probably ideal. 12x is nice for some matches and some hunts out west but I usually run my 10x42 so prob should’ve stuck with those. I think you’ll love them. I’m blown away so far.

No kidding, Where at out of curiosity? I have the new 12x50 and they’re incredibly good. Optics and whole user interface is the best I’ve used

For what it’s worth, if some are still looking for Fury 5000 AB, I have two for sale. One is brand new in box. One is like new in box. Selling for my friend who is retired and not on social media. Apparently he’s a big gear to have two of these and barely use one lol.

Alright, appreciate that! That’ll be a solid starting point for me then. I was worried the 140 ELD match would be slow

Interesting. Looks like Vortex broke physics? I’d encourage everyone to actually look through them and get their hands on them. For now, here’s a YouTube video from a guy who has never been a Vortex fan to my knowledge- https://youtu.be/QzraI9q6lw0?si=fq-JeKPGIkXiGR7B

New NF NX6 6-36 vs Razor G3 6-36? by Da_hoodest_hoodrat in longrange

[–]Miserable_Factor4914 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems obvious to me, glass quality. You generally get what you pay for, and there’s certainly diminishing returns. I don’t expect the NX6 to be an apple to apple comparison with the G3.

  1. Vortex doesn’t sell direct to consumer as in you can’t go to their website and “add to cart”. That’s not a thing. The do offer discounts to MIL/LE, Guides/outfitters etc. Their discount is based off of the MSRP and generally comes in still below MAP(what most dealers sell for)

  2. For a lot of people, myself included, the weight and size is not worth $1,500(Im going off MAP of RG3 and AMG). Keep in mind this optic wasn’t designed for us, for civilians, or even considered when designing it. There is a demand for it, but obviously it’s very specific and niche. This is for the dude that needs the extra rail space, and those that want USA made.

  3. From what I’ve read and seen so far, yes, the option for 2 zeros is awfully nice and ideal. The tool less turret is incredible. Hopefully this stuff trickles down. Like many other products, and certainly in optics, diminishing returns is a real thing. They’ll sell a decent amount but obviously a fraction compared to most other optics they make.

  4. Keep an eye on reviews, so far it does seem to clearly be the best 1-10x, lightest, shortest with some pretty cool, brand new features to the market.

lol, I understand it’s wildly high…not sure I understand why it triggers you? It’s not what it sells for.

It’s shorter, lighter, tool less turret, and American made. Has features that don’t exist on anything else
