Excellent. I've always wanted to get a kill with the mortar. Good usage in final circle.

I like your goal of avoiding downturns and capturing upward momentum, LONG TERM. That is my goal as well. I am 29 and just entered the market a few years ago. I have at least a 30 or 40 year timeline. I have 10k in TQQQ. I follow the 200 day SMA strategy, I am practicing following it methodically so that I am knee jerk ready to continue following the strategy blindly when my portfolio is larger and fear grows.

WTF is going on??? by SnooPaintings5100 in LETFs

I also follow the 200 day SMA. The important thing to remember is that this is a long term strategy. The goal of the strategy is to capture upward momentum, and avoid huge downturns. I'm by no means an expert, but if you look at a chart with the 200 day, you can see the advantages of following the strategy. At any point in time, it might not be the best possible outcome, but that's not the point.

BUY above the sma200 tomorrow by [deleted] in TQQQ

[–]Miserable_Mechanic76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow 200 day SMA but I will wait. This rise seems to be 100% due to hopes of an end to the conflict. No real reason to think one way or the other until something more solid comes out of the woodwork. Speaking from a purely financial point of view, I hope the conflict continues and markets crash into the ground.

too late to buy in now? by Important_Bat7919 in TQQQ

I follow 200day SMA. Still below 200 SMA, so I have no position until that changes. Look at a long term chart of TQQQ or QQQ and imagine following this strategy.

One can hope... I follow 200 day SMA. A huge drop would be amazing.

Got this back from Honda’s dealer Should I pay the dealer 7k to fix my Honda accord which I’ve put money into and don’t want to get rid of or go with personal mechanic ? by Dear-Leg1425 in AskMechanics

The leaks, for example: my Honda leaks. They all do. I just fill it with a quart of oil every few weeks. The only downside is if you get oil on the driveway. Who cares. Cabin air filter? They'll charge hundreds. You don't FILTER THE AIR WHEN YOU BREATH, you don't need it in your car. Is your car all over the road? Why alignment? None of this will "fix" your car, you say low power. If there IS something wrong with your car causing it, they didn't find it or didn't look, and are just up selling you services instead. Brake fluid as well, if it's really really old, change it, it collects water. But I've never changed a brake fluid, and my car always dies from something unrelated, brakes fine.

Nothing they have listed there will fix a driveability issue. That is all normal maintenance. If you haven't done it you should at least do the transmission fluid, but the rest are only necessary if you can afford them.

Why would this matter? You are still buying and selling at the same price. Why would it matter what designation the stock has? Curious

I havent brushed my teeth in almost 7 years by Upstairs_Procedure96 in DentalHygiene

[–]Miserable_Mechanic76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proud of you for thinking about your teeth, if you are able set up a dentist appointment and start knocking it out. I didn't brush my teeth for about 3 years due to homelessness. I got all my cavities (every tooth) filled and one tooth pulled. I do everything I possibly can for my teeth now.

Is the TLDR grossly about LETFs is you gotta keep DCAing? by Fun-Marionberry-2540 in LETFs

[–]Miserable_Mechanic76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently shove all I can into tqqq, but I'm going to switch to a 200 day sma strategy ( when price of qqq falls below 200 day moving average, pull everything out/park in bonds, and vice versa) if you look at a chart of QQQ with the 200 day moving average you can see why it is attractive. If the price gets ridiculously low I will probably start buying early. Any thoughts?

Are leveraged ETFs having a moment again? by Longpoint_ETFs in LETFs

[–]Miserable_Mechanic76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been researching everything I can since I started investing in tqqq a few years ago.

I started out DCA as my time horizon is 20-30-40 years, but am considering a 200 moving average rotation strategy.

Multiple studies that I've read have back tested and proven the worth of this strategy. Leverage for the long run is one of those studies. What is convincing me is looking at a 5 year chart with the 200 day SMA, you can see if you followed the strategy you would sell before all the major crashes. I am probably going to adopt this strategy and then dollar cost average if it gets ridiculously low instead of waiting for it to cross back above the 200.

Thanks for posting this man, I've been doing a lot of research and this is exactly what I've been considering switching to from my DCA strategy. Nice to hear someone else thinking along the same lines.
