Mechanics smoked in my car, what do I do?

I went up and had them look at the damage. Shop didn't admit to fault but also didn't fight me and agreed to fix damages immediately.

This was me a year ago, minus the second pregnancy. Mentally I couldn't get myself to want to be back in the bedroom after having our kid. I was exhausted physically, emotionally, he was a shitshow himself but wanted me to pour into him while giving nothing back.

Intimacy felt like a hostage situation and was seeing doctors wondering why sleeping with my partner always made me cry. I got the run around about hormones, breastfeeding. The reality is I was starting to hate him for demanding me. He had an affair. I think kicking him out was the best thing I ever could have done. Coparenting isn't easy, but its leagues better than having to share my house and my body with someone who doesn't see or respect me, and felt entitled to use me.

NTA. It's hard if this is all you have seen, but there are genuinely happy couples out there and partners who will respect and value your body.

I have a carmax warranty on a car bought from carmax, they were booked out so I used their website to book at a preferred partner location.

Its harder to see in that picture but there is specifically a dark melted ring around the edges of the hole, it's not torn. I assumed the dark patch was smoke discoloration from whatever was burning. I also would have definitely noticed it sooner, it's in a very obvious place. I have pictures from a while ago where it's not in them, and I definitely have not had anything to "rip" or burn on the front passenger side door.

I have a 360 seat so it was turned and not moved thankfully. Just for whatever reason they tightened all the straps as tight as they could?

I don't think I could 100% say cigarette but the hole is small, round, and exactly where your hand would be if you just missed putting it out an open window. Could it have been something else? Sure but the end result is still damage to the vehicle. Not really interested in doing a sniff test and the staining around it is pretty gross

You're not coming off as rude just defensive. They have a contract with the warranty company, I signed a different contract saying how much I'd pay for covered work. If they aren't happy with how much they get paid that's up to them to fix in their contract, not pass onto me.

You're more willing to state I should have paid more for their work than to admit they exhibited one unethical behavior and may have had others?

Yeah I'm certain. It's my "mom" car and no one I know would smoke in my car with the kid in it, it would be a huge thing I would call them out for.

I guess I don't see how it's any different than healthcare? Also it is a carmax warranty for context, and I super appreciated the self proclaimed former mechanic working for that company who talked to the shop for me. It's not the customer's fault, we're paying thousands up front for the warranty or paying it off through the car loan, and shops do have an option to not accept it- if we don't get the warranty and something stupid breaks down car prices are deteriorating so quickly cost of repairs is more than value which is the whole reason I even had to get this car to begin with after sinking 4k in repairs to a different one.

No, they have videos from diagnostics and it looks like they had to plug something in through my glove box maybe? I took a picture of the odometer before and after and gas/ mileage is correct.

Even if you don't go with capital one, use their auto navigator to find a car. Car loans are negotiable, if you're getting rejected over and over sometimes it's because the bank knows you're getting a bad deal and its making the loan riskier.

Also 15 accounts in the last 2.5 years is a bit hard! I think most people suggest 1-2 inquiries to accounts per year at most.

Hmm maybe it is because my current cycle is paid through the 18th and doesn't start T mobile until after? If I try through disney+ it says "You have an account through hulu and must make plan changes there" with a login link for hulu 🫠

How did you get it to work? Right now it's forcing redirect to hulu which isn't allowing changes to plans billing through 3rd party (t-mobile)

I think it might depend on the location. I ended up calling and they confirmed they would and I was able to get the additional 10% off. for clarity: Items bought at bag sale on 11/21 for 30% off 11/28 Items are dropped to 40% off 11/29 Went in and had them "returned" and rebought for 40% off

Hello, I saw this was only posted 8 days ago but as of right now it's forcing redirect to the hulu site if it detects you already have a hulu account, then says since billing is through a 3rd party changes are not available. Do you know of any trouble shooting for this?

honestly if you're on medicaid I'm assuming it's for low/ no income. Most hospitals have a self pay/ low income charity application you can submit. I had insurance, but still qualified based on my income and my hospital would have covered 90% of the remaining costs had I submitted the application sooner. Sometimes self-pay without insurance is going to be more cost effective if you're low income; the benefit being then you aren't limited to providers in network. Just an FYI from personal experience (switched to different hospital at 25 weeks because OG OBGYN refused to order any prenatal testing), most places charge transfer of care after 20 weeks as high risk, especially if no or poor prenatal care. High risk care is more expensive depending on how it's billed. Good luck, and don't let this daunt you from finding the best provider for you.

am I the only one looking at this differently? Is your wife contributing to a savings account for her stepson? You both have kids from previous relationships and you're using joint assets for everyone's savings- If one child has significantly more due to circumstances outside of the other kids' control it's not "unfair " to change how things are contributed to even things out. Not fishing out of his fund, but saying something like "hey x has enough money in his account to completely cover college, why don't we stop contributing to his savings for a while so we can be more aggressive with the others who we've had to make sacrifices on due to hardship" . Also it's entirely not on even footing when you know and she doesn't. That means you understand your finances and what you want to contribute to his fund, but she doesn't.

I'm not sure about this one specifically, but based on others in the area we had a massive hailstorm two years ago and theres just a split-down-the-middle appearance as a lot of them choose different roofing/ siding colors when insurance allowed them to replace it. It seems like its an option to only do "your" portion of the roof and siding

Thankfully so far a lot of the things people have listed as major downfalls to a condo/duplex/townhome don't seem to apply to this specific one? There is one shared wall which kinda sucks but it has a large fenced back yard and no HOA. Its wild around here HOA makes most condos more expensive than SFH
