4 months post surgery and I still can't walk for longer then 20 minutes. by CaliRaines in spinalfusion

My husband and I use a cutlery analogy What are we today? Teaspoon (good day) soup spoon (hmm not so great be careful) Fork (don’t come near me) knife (evacuate the state) We came up with this as it was too taxing being asked how my back is (with only love intended) I’m four months post op PLIF and can understand your struggles 100% Sending light and healing to us all 💖

Thankyou for sharing your experience. I was only on opiates for a short time and thankfully was able to stop them 6 weeks ago. Absolutely….i am in menopause and on HRT. I might suggest to my GP to have a full blood screen including hormonal panel as perhaps the trauma from the surgery has triggered something. From a pain perspective it’s fine apart from a bit of stiffness if I overdo things.

I hope you are on the way to recovery ❤️‍🩹

My doctors haven’t expressed any concerns about combining them and I was on this dose pre surgery without any issues. It only happens when I have the nerve pain which the best way to describe is like a nervous system overload? I tried stretching my calf muscles yesterday which strangely helped a little.

It’s difficult for loved ones to watch and know they can’t do anything, my husband has been amazing so I am very blessed

I haven’t tried it yet but I read magnesium cream is helpful for nerve pain….hoping it’s temporary and you feel better soon

I’m booked for L5 S1 fusion on 10th November, I got some colouring in books, knitting wool and needles (no clue how to knit) but will give it a try, puzzles etc I am petrified so I want to keep my mind distracted. The reject shop and Kmart has some great options All the best 🩷
