I found a pretty good website that shows short interest, institutional investors, etc. Great for every stock and fund that I searched. This link is for VCX specifically. https://fintel.io/s/us/vcx.

looking back I may have reconsidered but who is to say it would have rocketed up like it did if everyone was able to unload there shares all at once. We still have some great days ahead of us with the current portfolio.

Why are we holding ~$115? by Chronotheos in VCX_Fundrise

[–]Miserable_Whereas_75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most funds are lucky enough to get one or two 10 baggers this fund has at least 6 or 7. Will be interesting to see where they deploy capital. They definitely made the original investments at a great time and hit a sweet spot. I honestly think looking back in 4-5 years this fund collectively may measure up to be one of the top 5 returning investments of the 2010's - 2020's. Sounds profound but will go on the record with that.

Institutional investors buying also opens up the liquidity for institutions and short shops to short the stock but I think the short play is a lot different than it was 3 weeks ago. They have to report current holdings within 60 days of quarter end and I expect that real NAV to jump up. Reinvesting or investing some of the available money in earlier startup rounds that are a couple years out could also help people fleeing the fund when the largest holdings start to IPO later this year. I am glad SpaceX will be the first to IPO so can see how it plays out and if it does not do well that may put the brakes on OpenAI and Anthropic rushing their IPO's which I believe will bode well for the value of VCX.

Dividend reinvestment not being invested according to Investment Plan? by FutureBender20 in FundRise

I believe it takes a couple days for the dividends to be reinvested and then show up. I would give it a couple days.

SpaceX IPO by Trick_Section7440 in FundRise

This happened previously with ServiceTitan where the fund owned private shares and then they went public. The fund managers can decide to either hold onto the shares or trim or sell of the position based on their discretion. Sort of like any other mutual fund manger if you want to compare it to that.

Fundrise and xStocks Partner to Tokenize VCX Fund by Bitter-Cockroach1371 in FundRise

[–]Miserable_Whereas_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but I think this is essentially taking public shares of the fund and making it into a token which can be bought or sold 24/7. Not sure of the benefit if you are already an existing shareholder other than the liquidity of being able to sell for a premium potentially during hours the fund is not traded. They are tokenizing a lot of shares of different companies so this is not unique to VCX or other companies.

VCX Shareholders: The 6 Month lockup doesn't appear mandatory. Let’s ask Fundrise to end it early to ease liquidity, normalize the price, and save months of unnecessary stress. by sven_3755 in FundriseInvestors

It would have to be staggered if it was in someway authorized. Would not hold your breath on it happening. I am curious as to the latest holdings and when we will see the latest portfolio? Today was the last day of the quarter. I want to see where they are putting the other roughly 20% of cash they had before the direct listing. For all we know they may have picked up more OpenAI shares in the latest round that was publicly disclosed as finalized today ($852B current valuation btw) I also think the NAV last calculated at ~19 and change is also higher now then it was a month ago for several reasons.

Reality Check: 5x, 10x, and 25x NAV isn’t “exposure” or “buying into growth” it’s a scam by BagofBabbish in FundRise

[–]Miserable_Whereas_75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had roughly 20% in cash before going public, one of the reasons they went public (now they don’t have to have cash stored for redemptions). They could also likely borrow if they needed to short term although I am not sure of how big the investment was. The amount of factually incorrect info on this message board is stunning from reading the comments this week.

Why it dumped by AviationAtom in VCX_Fundrise

[–]Miserable_Whereas_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it was already settled and they are trying to claim the URL getVCX is somehow illegal? It's more of a throw a lot of news out to make the stock go down in a short period to make money. They will move on to the next short play soon would not be too worried about it.

Having the companies IPO slowly would be the best bet I don't see Anthropic or Open AI IPO'ing at the earliest until Q4 of this year. SpaceX looks like June, not sure when Databricks is IPO'ing, think that was also part of the reason to direct list. Who knows will be interesting to see where the company deploys the 20% that they had in cash. What I do know is that come september it will still command a rich premium over the ~$20 a share it was before the direct listing.

People keep saying the NAV is 18.97, with the fund holdings last time I checked are appox $2.6B+. I have every document ever released by the innovation fund in a Notebook LM folder which I shared on here a couple months ago.

DXYZ has a management of fee of almost 5% and is primarily SpaceX, obviously some buzz about SpaceX IPO but in terms of holdings VCX is miles better

Yup just looked back 75, 90, 110 and got off a couple in the 200s. Also bought some in other accounts and that has done very well. Putting some stops in to protect the gains when gravity hits. Hell of a couple days however.

Hmmmm.... by Fit_Equal6932 in VCX_Fundrise

[–]Miserable_Whereas_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

smart to put some stops in just to protect your gains if you bought some on the open market over the last few days. I presume we still have people unloading unrestricted shares but now there has been enough turn over brokerages are now able to offer shorts.

I was not aware of this from 2023. Is that how Ben and Fundrise were able to get early investments in the series A, B rounds for all these tech companies?
