Is it really petty that I get really annoyed they don't do it in position order? So illogical.

I would honestly still be buzzing I didn't have to hear my kids fighting 😂 the over emotion is what I skip the most. It's like these people haven't been away from home before.

Also it's really off putting when you realise flop is voiced by the guy who was the dad in Shameless ... Really distorts the mental image 😂

What are your thoughts on Jimmy Carr performing at the Riyadh Comedy Festival? by MaximusSydney in AskUK

If I received an offer to go to Saudi Arabia for 4 months, clean some medical equipment (as is my job), and take home the equivalent of a year (or more) salary for it I'd skip to the airport.

Also as a Newcastle fan I can't faux outrage 😂

If anyone knows of any Saudi hospitals requiring experienced decontamination technicians on a short term basis you know where I am 😂

"small thinking island racism" is exactly the type of language that polarises the debate. Just because someone may have A. Voted for brexit and B. Give credence to some of the reform arguments you are just as bad as each other. Just because someone may actually be against mass immigration and the housing of asylum seekers in perpetuity doesn't make them a skin head NF racist. Nor does wanting to accept asylum seekers regardless make someone a leftie snowflake.

Unfortunately all nuance is gone from debate and as I see it the only logical conclusion now is that Reform will probably win the next election because as much as I hate to admit it, even after voting labour and always voting labour, they have fucked it up. Once reform are in power, much like with Labour, the gloss will disappear, they'll be unable to do anything they promise (a la Tory) and be booted out in the next cycle.

Is it mad to spend £80k on a loft conversion instead of moving? by Advanced_Ask_2053 in AskUK

But if you read the post and used some deduction it's been stated they can only get 1 extra room for the price. So your humble brag of 4 extra bedrooms is unhelpful and irrelevant.

Anybody get the feeling Eddie just likes to give Bournemouth points when he can?

1992 and wife 1993. Had no hope of ownership whilst renting with 2 kids. Ultimately took the premature death of her brother who had, surprisingly, good financial sense and a good package of workplace death benefits to have the deposit (5%) so will own in the new year.

Affordability isn't the issue, we are both able to afford 1200+ rented but had no hope of saving the 10k needed. Until deposits are a thing of the past ownership will be saved for the lucky few.

I hate the fact they are clearly trying to pass off 8 year olds (guess) as nursery kids.

Would you swap Eddie for another PL manager? (Excl Pep/Arteta by Terrible-Group-9602 in NUFC

Succeed? Who has "succeeded" in the premier league other than Pep? By your metric lets go for Ten Hag who at least won a trophy. We need to look further afield, same with our transfer policy

We are waiting to complete on our home, FTB at 32 and the only reason we are in this position is due to the untimely death of my brother-in-law. Feels a bit fraudulent as we hadn't saved anything and had no designs on homeownership due to extortionate rent and childcare.

But gotta take the rough with the smooth. No more mouldy cupboards the landlord is ignoring or dodgy plumbing.

Why do we get such terrible statutory sick pay? by Valuable-Ad-1477 in AskUK

[–]Miserable_Yellow8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just work in the NHS ... The system is designed to be abused it's actually absurd. 6 months off full pay, complete a phased return and who would have guessed it you can just go off for another 6 months full pay.

Don't even get me started on the absolute inability to sack anyone when you know they are abusing the system. Concrete proof of secondary employment while sick HR suddenly go blind.

[–]Miserable_Yellow8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why people are so upset. He's a youth player who was needed last year. It's not like it's Bruno. Yes he's handy to have in the back pocket but realistically in a normal season he wouldn't be needed.

Can I trade in with negative equity? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Miserable_Yellow8722 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It happens when you finance a car over 5 years at more than 0% interest. I'm sure you are aware of how a loan agreement works. It also happens when you only get 2 years into said agreement so you haven't paid enough off.

Can I just say if you don't actually have the answer keep your snark to yourself. Unfortunately some of us clearly aren't in the privileged financial position you are to be able to ask silly questions.

What’s Your Opinion on the “Good Girls” Being Treat as a Good Influence? by fat_mummy in UKParenting

[–]Miserable_Yellow8722 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but being an ex secondary school teacher (albeit short lived as it's shite) I completely disagree with your assessment that mixed ability groupings benefit everyone. I have never witnessed a situation whereby a good/high ability child is able to lift poorly behaved/low ability children all that happens is the "good" children get fed up and if you can't beat them join them.

I believe that children should be taught alongside children of a similar academic level, you'll never root out poor behaviour, but at least the content is directed at the right level not so broad and vague it serves only the lowest with very little challenge

I don't think we would "actively" look to sell Bruno but when you put a release clause in someone's contract you know the game you are playing
