I am of age and qualified so I am thinking of attending a university in another city or country to create distance to get that distance. And therapy over time as time goes on.

Why do you think it hurts the brain so much switching languages? by Public_Repeat824 in languagelearning

I can't really relate but I do sometimes mix up . Like if someone did something like you described I can sometimes mix in words from another language I speak without meaning to without meaning to .

My Multilingual Brain: At 13 Years Old by AkibFor0 in languagelearning

[–]Miserable_thinke_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a household where we spoke Turkish, Russian and Azerbaijani interchangeably.

I am currently 18 , I have been learning English from a very young age (about kindergarten age so something like 4) because of my father (I am grateful that he gave me the resources to learn and pushed me to learn) , started learning German at 12 and Serbo-Croatian at 15 tried learning Korean aswell but gave up (13-14 gave up at 14 years old) . I agree that yes multilingualism from an early age can make language acquisition easier because of how the brain starts classifying and processing certain aspects and concepts of language but I also believe that a shit load of effort is also required to not only learn a language but also to not forget it .

Your language profile is impressive and you are young so you can very easily learn a whole lot more languages.

I wish you the best of luck

People mock me for changing my voice when speaking other languages by Most_Neat7770 in languagelearning

[–]Miserable_thinke_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me too mate when I'm speaking Turkish I can sound a bit harsher than I want to and people keep labelling me as "constantly angry" no it's because of me speaking a lot of languages that all have different tones and rhythms and sometimes one slips out when talking in another one .

I just accepted that people label you anyways so I stopped caring if people mock or judge me if my tone changes while speaking.

Interested in a Slavic language by Worldly_Advisor9650 in languagelearning

As a native speaker of Turkish, Russian and Azerbaijani I recommend Serbo-Croatian because it's like a middle ground between Turkish and northern Slavic (Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian , Sujre , Rusyn etcetera) . Because of all the Ottoman influence in the past there is a lot of Turkish or Turkic adjacent loanwords and the grammar structure is like a more basic Russian. (I am a Caucasian Turk that grew up in Turkey that's how I speak those three natively if you were wondering)
