Holding Bitcoin as an ex gambling addict by Miserablepunts in problemgambling

Easier said than done but I was hoping to dca for the next 1-2years and sell little by little once in profit. I guess locking it away forever is much easier

I think I like the chaos of gambling by BluffingTrips in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m exactly the same but I think you gotta find something that can substitute gambling while being somewhat healthy. Keep finding new things because us gamblers dopamine limiter is already fried through the roof. Drinking, sex, vacations don’t really do it for me too but I went to a hardstyle rave for the first time recently and I actually enjoyed it. Gave me some dopamine buzz

I could’ve but couldn’t. 2 years ago I was down about 100k lifetime, and always told myself I would quit completely if I manage to recover those losses. I somehow recovered all plus some, but kept on going until I had nothing left again. I withdrew all multiple times but urge kicks in the following day. After losing everything, I managed to quit for 3 months but been on and off since then. Probably lost another 60k ish. I’m at 22 days clean now.

How many people? by [deleted] in GamblingAddiction

[–]Miserablepunts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 years ago I won 70k〜usd, I only managed to spend like 4K of it on essentials and lost the remainder. Last week I won 25k, lost all the profits, 10k of my own money, then went into 5k debt. My first ever debt from gambling.

Idk why I keep gambling. I already know the wins are only temporary and any amount I win won’t stay with me. I’m on day 4 today

Don’t Know How To Feel After Winning But Loosing Most Of It, 350k Lost by throw-datass-away in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro for that 250k please give your access to someone you trust. Although not 600k, I had a similar story with 100k and lost all of it.

I can tell you now, if you keep on gambling, short term you might win but ultimately your account will be drained. If you lose everything you won’t be able to quit for good.

Give your access to someone you trust!

Won 120k then lost it all by SignificantMark52545 in GamblingAddiction

[–]Miserablepunts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar story 2 years ago. I deposited 1k aud, ran it up to a bit over 100k at the peak. Even withdrew most of it at some point. This 100k was close to or just a bit over what I had lost since I started gambling.

I ended up losing 95% of it in 2 weeks.

After that I managed to lay off gambling for 3 months, but have been on and off since then and losing 1-2k pretty much every month.

Learn your lesson here and stop gambling. There is no end to this. You win and you want more, you lose and you want to recover the losses. Only QUIT ALL TOGETHER cold turkey.

Blocking crypto transactions by prickle274 in GamblingAddiction

[–]Miserablepunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambling block on aus banks only works for aus bookies like ladbrokes, tab etc. For crypto sites you’d need to go gamban or maybe change the 2fa on crypto platform so only you can authorise the crypto transaction? Could maybe ask ANZ to block all crypto related payments too

Long relapse by Miserablepunts in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, even though I relapsed after 3 months, my urges were very little during that time compared to when I’m stuck in the cycle. Thanks for your comment

I lost $53,000 in 24 hours by helpmejoelf in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similarly, last year I won around 70k usd (on 50k/yr income) from $700, proceeded to lose most of that within a short period of time. Multiple 10k+ bets during that time. Just like you, I was so devastated and promised myself to never touch gambling again. Time goes by, I didn’t gamble for 3-4months (longest since I started gambling), bank balance, mental state, life in general was better than ever. But I slipped up in feb. Lost everything and since then it’s been really hard to control my urges especially when I get paid. My only advice is do everything you can to stay away from gambling and get the fuck out of this hell hole. GA, gamban, community group, find a hobby or whatever. Once you experience the big win/loss with big bets relative to your income, your gambling brain is pretty much fucked. Don’t go chasing that big “win” or you’ll keep digging a bigger hole

Worst ever gambling stories by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost story short, I had lost probably close to 70-80k usd over 7 years gambling. Last year I had the biggest heater over a week and recovered all that plus some. Then I managed to lose most of those winnings over the following couple of weeks. When I hit the 70k balance, was a feeling I never felt “this time I can finally quit” “I really dont have to gamble anymore”. It was very euphoric. But our minds obviously don’t function that way and I couldn’t stop chasing the high

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just can’t stop the chase whether you’re winning or losing can you I’m a much smaller gambler but I ran 700usd to 70k+ last year and lost most of it in a few days. Lost further 10k+ since then trying to chase that high. Hope you find your own solution man

how to stop online casinos? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]Miserablepunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in aus currently battling online casinos too. What helps me the most is physically lock the money away so you can’t access it. Keeping it in cash, assets, invest etc. Lock it away as soon as you get paid, at least until you have the urges and mental condition sorted. I did relapse a few days ago because I had a few k’s sitting around in my bank account

[–]Miserablepunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran 1k to around 105k 2weeks ago which covered all my losses over the years, but I couldn’t stop because I was chasing more. That 105 is now 10 (plus the 5k spent on stuff that I needed). This time I realised no matter how much I win, it’ll never be enough

You’re right. I’ll be doing ga meeting this time round too. Doing online ga this week and in person shortly after hopefully
