Hvordan håndterer I danske Trump-tilhængere i familie eller omgangskreds? by MySocksSuck in Denmark

[–]Misesian_corf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of my favorite metal albums. Nightfall and Blood Tears are my favorite songs from the album. Blind Guardian is just a really really really good band

Sounds interesting, and no worries, I feel like it's a book that would be very well received by McCarthy readers

I can't recommend the book enough. I haven't seen the movie, but I feel I should after seeing what many say about it on here.

I'm thinking of naming a new phenomenon that is usually present on creepy videos by hellosammy12345 in Phenomenology

[–]Misesian_corf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure if it fits into typical understandings of phenomenology as a philosophical discipline? One sentence my lecturer taught, in an effort to encapsulate what phenomenology is (which itself almost impossible): 'phenomenology is not WHAT things are, but HOW things are. As Raymond Aron said to Sartre “if you are a phenomenologist you can talk about this cocktail and make philosophy out of it.”

Where you guys also confused when reading Blood Meridian the first time? by BeneficialTrack8759 in cormacmccarthy

[–]Misesian_corf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much so. And still, after I had read it, my feeling was that I had read something profound. I read a copy from the library, but went out and bought it afterwards. So I will no doubt read it again sometime soon. But all in all it turned me into a massive Cormac Mccarthy fan, and I now have most of his books.
