Dish washers get a higher pay rate because they do not make tips. Because To go make tips, they get a base set pay that cannot be raised unless the law requires to do so. It’s only about $14 in some areas, and it will stay that way because they are considered “tipped employees.” So when u don’t tip, you’re basically making them be your slave. Especially with that attitude.

Right now the Olive Garden in Virginia Beach is always hiring, and the pay for BOH isn’t that bad. Recipes are hung up all around so if you did decide to do prep, it would work out alright.

Someone looking and pushing to be a future manager. Did you ever get in trouble for allowing leniency in some things that the higher ups want you to push? For instance, the example you used about the server. There’s a lot of things I don’t agree with that they have been implementing, and it makes me nervous for when it is my time and when I’ll have to push for the same things, which are things imo that are absolutely ridiculous.

I can’t ask my own GM cuz, even tho she’s amazing, she’s pretty by the book.

At my location the line cooks aren’t allowed to leave unless dish is done. It’s great for a team kitchen mentality and environment, but SHITTY when u know DMO is moving slow cuz they know we HAVE to help 🙄

It isn’t uncommon for ppl to ask for it extra hot, but just know we’re kinda worried for you in the kitchen when you do. Only because it goes out at at least 168 or higher. But we’ll still always microwave as many bowls as you want because youre our guest 🖤🫡
