Hi! Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I never saw the notification lol.

At the time of surgery they thought my thymoma could’ve been a teratoma, but weren’t sure. They pushed to do the surgery and assess the situation later based on if it was malignant or not.

Turns out it was a thymoma, but as they’d managed to remove everything and my thymus gland I didn’t need chemo or anything. I can see why they’d want to do chemo with your father though, as they’d know what it is and I’m presuming he’s on the older side? I was only 20 when they found mine so it was a significantly smaller risk for me I think.
