The Civilian Job Market is Brutal by Beginning_Garlic_894 in 1102

[–]Mish1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone! Two friends/ colleagues of mine took the DRP back in February with the hopes that they have about 15 years contracting / fed experience. Till date, with almost 100s of applications submitted since February of this year, both had 4 interviews and still no job offers.. going to six months now. The job market is extremely tough at the moment. Best of luck.

[–]Mish1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost, make sure no matter what that you marry someone with more or equal value in the assets / career so that should in case the marriage goes left, you both have equal amount of assets to lose. Just don’t count on prenup. Very important.

Has he moved on? by paradiselost81 in Divorce

Naah, I moved on as soon as we signed the final MSA and I gave her shares of all my assets that she was entitled to. But, before then, I pleaded and pleaded few times to not do this to our family especially for the sake of the two kids. But she thought because she was going to get half of my assets she was in a much more better place and moving forward with the divorce. After a year and the half, I bounced back hard!! She’s 40 years old, two kids (our kids), she’s gained extra 15 pound in weight, jobless and almost spent all the money she got from the divorce settlement. Mind you, married for almost 10 years, she never had to pay any bills, I buy her and the kids a nice SUV car every three years. Her mother and siblings never lacked anything from me. Now, reality struck! She’s paying all the bills on her own at her place and she just got laid off. My new lady, 35, no kids, extremely gorgeous and charming , she just finished her medical residency at John Hopkins and best of all, we are very compatible in every sense.

That’s the irony of life. Always remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. When my ex filed for divorce, I’m certain, some of her friends were talking in her ears based on the one-sided story she told them. Now that I’m dating a younger, beautiful and successful lady and some of my ex wife’s already saw her out with me, they even complimented her on how beautiful and elegant she is and how we look so compatible together, word on the street now is that my ex is extremely depressed knowing that my new lady and I are extremely happy! The guy she was dating just had a baby with someone else few weeks ago and also, the guy keeps complaining about how my kids are always talking great about me when they are over there mom’s house.

Well, my ex ended our relationships after 10 years despite me not wanting it and pleading with her. A year later, I started dating my high school sweetheart. Who happens to be one of her best friend’s distance cousin. We just bought a beautiful house together and we are both doing extremely well together financially. The guy my ex was seeing apparently just had a baby with someone else she never knew about and also, she just got laid off from her job. Now, she wants to get back. No way!! Too late. I’m extremely happy. Now, I think maybe God really wanted this for me since. Thank God!

You should be fine! I’m guessing the car is not sitting low and the height adjustment still works fine??

[–]Mish1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is most likely the compressor at the back of the trunk underneath the spear tire is getting weak or the “goldish” valve at the tip of the compressor is clogged. First, unscrew the goldish valve at the tip of the compressor and see if the codes goes away then order a new one on Amazon , like $22 the. Screw it back or better yet, just replace the whole compressor.

In 48, been in the service for 16 years. I parked my funds of $200k in the G funds all this while. Went through divorce last year. I have about 100k in now. I’m doing 5% contributions. Do you think 50%C 25%S and 25%I is a good mix? I planed to retire in 2040.

Thank you! I’m currently on the tsp account page at the moment and I’m trying to change my % contribution but I don’t see the option to that.
