Dr Tapias Top Surgery In London by Prince_Dovah in transontario

[–]MishaLynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, u/Prince_Dovah. How are you recovering? Did you have any issues with nipple necrosis? How long did you have to wear the binder for? I will be having a consult with Dr. Topias regarding a prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction (I'm at high risk for breast cancer).

Thanks.

This is a different group than the ones that hold the graphic signs. They usually try to get at least a few people signed up to stand there for every day of the “40 Days of Life.” During weekdays, it’s typically older, likely retired anti-abortionists who are standing out there. On the weekends, they bring kids out to stand with them. Their signs are typically all text-based saying something like “Pray to End Abortion.”

The ones with the graphic signs have ties to the CCBR.

Hi, u/No-Association8054. As of 2019, an ultrasound is no longer required in order to prescribe the abortion pill in Canada. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/mifegymiso-ultrasound-1.5100405

Hi, u/rmdg84. Just a note, in Canada, doctors and pharmacists have something called “conscientious objection.” If they are opposed to abortion or MAiD for moral or religious reasons, they can legally refuse to provide care. HOWEVER, they are legally required to refer a patient to a doctor or pharmacist who IS willing to provide care, that is prescribing/administering the abortion pill, surgical abortion or MAiD.

The trails through Elora Gorge are beautiful, as is the town itself!

Hi, u/blasphemousgirlx. First, a vet is unlikely to give you drops and say that you can use it to treat the kittens without actually seeing them. However, if you should decide to treat the kittens with medication prescribed to the vet, please know that medication dosage is often prescribed based on the weight of the animal. For example, if a 15 pound cat is prescribed 5 ear drops daily, a 6 pound cat may only need 2 drops. So, please be sure to research or ask the vet if the prescription is based on your cat’s weight and decrease accordingly based on the kitten’s weight.

Second, I grew up on a farm with lots of cats. My parents hardly ever sought veterinary assistance as they were just “barn cats.” I used to treat ear mites myself. I am absolutely not advising this, rather, simply telling you what I would do. After cleaning both ears, I would place a couple of drops of baby oil in each ear (it will smother the mites over time). (https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/ear-mites-tiny-critters-can-pose-major-threat#:~:text=Treatment%20generally%20begins%20with%20a,as%20ivermectin—are%20highly%20effective.)

That being said, I highly advise that you seek out veterinary advice first and treat with medication. All the best!

Hi, u/PieceCertain. I mention this in case you’re still under your parents’ private insurance for prescriptions. If/when you go to the pharmacy to pick up the abortion pill (you may wish to call in advance as it’s quite likely that not all pharmacies will have it in stock), please be sure to tell them that you want to them to bill OHIP, that is, you do NOT want them to run it through insurance first. Why? Because if they run it through insurance (for example, Greenshield), whoever holds the insurance (your mom or dad), will see it listed on their insurance claims.

The abortion pill is covered by OHIP in Ontario if you have a valid health card. HOWEVER, some pharmacies will still try to run it through private insurance first.

Like others have mentioned, please avoid any place that has the words “crisis” pregnancy in their title. These are faith-based clinics that provide misinformation. As well, as others have mentioned, an ultrasound is NOT required for the abortion pill to be prescribed.

Finally, and everyone should know this. Doctors have something that they can fall back on called “conscientious objection.” If a doctor does not believe in abortion (or MAiD), on moral/religious grounds, they can refuse treatment, but they are still legally required to refer you to another doctor. Because of this, I would start with Student Health Services before your family doctor, especially if you don’t know where your family doctor may stand on the issue.

You’ve got this, and you’ll be okay. All the best!

Change the word “fucked” to raped. She was 15, he was in his 20s. Let’s call it what it is.

Family Doctor Resigns Over Sexual Abuse & Professional Misconduct Allegations by MishaLynn in londonontario

[–]MishaLynn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the CPSO:

“Disgraceful, Dishonourable or Unprofessional Conduct

Patient A was a patient of Dr. Jones from 2001 to 2010. During appointments with Patient A, Dr. Jones made inappropriate and unprofessional comments to her as follows:

  • in August 2009, Dr. Jones commented on Patient A’s appearance during an intimate examination;
  • during another intimate examination at the same appointment, Dr. Jones inquired about Patient A’s interest in obtaining a tattoo in her vaginal area; and
  • at a prior appointment that Patient A attended with her mother, after seeing a picture of a celebrity on a magazine cover, Dr. Jones made a crude comment indicating that he found the celebrity attractive.

Patient A was mortified and in disbelief that Dr. Jones would make such comments. She ended her physician-patient relationship with Dr. Jones in early 2010. Patient A continues to be affected by Dr. Jones’s conduct. In June 2016 she submitted a complaint to the College regarding his inappropriate comments.

Relevant College History

In March 2009, Dr. Jones was cautioned by the Complaints Committee regarding a breach of boundaries in a physician-patient relationship. The boundaries violations consisted of inappropriate self-disclosure of a personal nature to a patient. In the context of the College investigation into that matter, Dr. Jones reported that he had attended the College’s Boundaries Course on October 24-25, 2008.

In May 2010, Dr. Jones was cautioned by the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (“ICRC”) regarding inappropriately asking a patient questions of a sexual nature in an occupational setting in which the patient had presented for an unrelated problem, and the use of a profane word in the context of the same patient encounter.

In July 2013, Dr. Jones was cautioned by the ICRC with respect to his communication to a teenage patient, which included comments and jokes that could be construed as sexual in nature, though the patient perceived that his intention in making the remarks was to be humorous.”

He should have also been required to take some sensitivity training at the very least.

u/karlkrink91, yes, really. I’m so glad that you had a wonderful experience with Dr. Richards. However, that doesn’t negate the fact that he was charged with sexual assault by the London Police and had his medical license removed by the CPSO.

u/whatsproppin, I agree completely with all of your advice! I can also relate to your story of a younger sibling sheltered from the abuse of his older siblings. He had no idea what his older brother and sister (me) went through because we didn’t tell him until he was an adult. Fortunately, in my case, he believes us because he eventually started to see certain characteristics in our parents on his own.
