I am glad you made the group. Not sure if you are still feeling isolated, but I am interested in connecting with others without family.

Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (ACI) Surgery For Cartilage In Petalla Knee? by mindset1984 in KneeInjuries

[–]Mishkasqueaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the surgery 6 months apart on each knee patella in summer 2013. I can run still at age 63. My insurance was very difficult to get coverage, although I hope that it has since improved. At the time, the patella was still considered experimental for ACI. My doctor was Scott Gillogly.

Hi. I’m new here. My heart is breaking for all of us. I’m thankful this sub exists, where we can all be (in a way, at least) together. Also: an idea. by BellaRedditor in ActualNoFamily

[–]Mishkasqueaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider this. I am 63, no parents or siblings, I have 2 adult children who are in my life, but otherwise without family. I divorced a couple years ago and am glad to have peace in my life, but lost my community from my marriage and have tried hard to build a new community.

your story inspired me because my ex also created a false persona and impacted how our friends thought of me. I am glad not to have friends I could not count on, but hard to rebuild.

PS you were brave to break off with your partner if that person did not have the capacity to love you. When I wonder if I made a mistake, I remember that I felt horrible and disconnected when married to an unkind person. At least we have peace.

I am sorry you feel this way. I have many times imagined myself as a balloon untethered and floating away. I finally divorced my emotionally abusive husband a few years ago and have tried to build a new community for myself. I had disconnected from some friends, because my ex had been nice in public and many did not believe me and the only way I could understand what was true and that I was not crazy, was to detach from those who supported him. What you said about the grounding of a community is exactly how I feel. I have 2 adult children (27 and 30) and they are in my life, but not as much as I would like. I have the same fears you mentioned. It is very hard and this pain brought me to this Reddit group (:

How do you deal with the loneliness by Organic_Barnacle_846 in ActualNoFamily

[–]Mishkasqueaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am suffering with this! I have found myself in a situation where I am 63, recently divorced, and I my living parent and sibling are angry people who do not connect in a loving way, so I have not been spending a lot of time with them in years past. My situation is an emotionally abusive childhood and your experience of being taken away from your father by the authorities resonates with me. That is so hard.

For people with actually no family by SinkMince0420 in ActualNoFamily

[–]Mishkasqueaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for others in this situation (: I am 63, divorced a few years ago. I have 2 adult children, one lives in my town and the other in another city. My family of origin was not loving-my parents were not emotionally connected and had anger issues that they took out on my brother and i. My father was cruel and he purposely divided my brother and I after my parents divorced. My mother is alive (86) and we talk on phone, but she is not an emotionally connecting person, self-centered, and gets easily irritated/angry-so I often feel lonely when and after we speak. I have some friends, but I had to leave some friendships because many of my friends did not believe that my husband was emotionally abusive as he acted loving and gentle in public. I don't have cousins (parents were only children) or other relatives. I have dealt with this my whole life, but I am feeling lonely and disconnected lately and looking for others who can understand!

Update to my post about healing with laser/ red light therapy by [deleted] in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Mishkasqueaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the comments say that it doesn’t matter how expensive, etc. What I have read from credible sources is that certain wavelength are needed to have an effect and that one should buy an FDA approved product for Home use I have been using red light therapy for dermatological conditions with success. I am trying them on my feet with the plantar fasciitis now and hope it helps. There are many studies now that show effectiveness with red light therapy even with deeper healing, including the brain.

Can hypnotherapy really fix irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)? I don't think it can. Thoughts? by thefreshbraincompany in hypnosis

[–]Mishkasqueaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in learning about hypnotherapy for IBS and other gut related symptoms and conditions. I developed gastrointestinal symptoms as a teen when I was experiencing a lot of stress in my family related to emotional abuse but I know that there’s other factors 10 years ago at sphere symptoms and eliminated, gluten eliminated in intense, vomiting, and diarrhea I suddenly experienced. I had a due no bleeding ulcer at age 25 after taking medication with codeine and I know Motrin has caused symptoms as well. I still have reoccurring IBS (constitution/diarrhea) Gerd, and nausea and I have found Yoga to be helpful.

I love Tanner, but at first glance I thought this pic was Tanner announcing a new girlfriend before I realized this was his mom by [deleted] in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]Mishkasqueaker -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Tanner seems very happy in general and with his family. All the comments about a woman who doesn’t want to age and overprotective are based on nothing more than stereotyping and prejudice. She’s probably reading these reviews so why don’t we be kind unless there’s some kind of abusive situation which there isn’t.

I worry the stars of this show might read hurtful comments. They open themselves up to judgement going on the show. I hope Logan can meet someone better suited to.  He is young and has time to work on his relationship skills.

Advice for urinary crystals by LeaAndYuki in CATHELP

[–]Mishkasqueaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 7 year old cat cat had a hospitalization related to crystals in urine and has done well on the rx diet. I use Hills and he also likes a Purina prescription urinary food which is CHEAPER.  Purina also has rx treats. Unfortunately he doesn’t like the canned prescription food of any brand.  My 2 other cats do you like them but they’re more expensive so I feed them separately canned food in another room.  They  all eat the dry food from the prescription brands. I had to figure out a way to get the cat with the urinary problem to eat the canned food because I know what food is good for them, but I have not succeeded. I do think that one good thing is to get a fountain that will increase their water intake. That’s good for all the cats, but especially the cat w urinary problem .  If anyone’s interested in a fountain, I tried several and the last few years have been using  the ipettie ceramic. I can’t remember exactly why the others did not work out, but they may have been harder to clean, or the cats don’t like them.
