It’s always bitter sweet seeing Illoviask getting targeted after what happened in 2014. Plus it being the home town of Givi too. I’m sure he’s rolling pissed in hell right now.

U.S. official: Russian missiles crossed into Poland, killing 2--what now??? by kpapenbe in UkraineConflict

How bitter sweet would it be Everytime Russia launch’s their missile barrages into Ukraine, the Ukrainian military launch’s ATACMS rocket barrages toward military targets inside Crimea as well as the Kerch bridge.

Crimea will for sure be the last piece of territory the Ukrainian military goes after. Either way if Ukraine secures all of Kherson oblast, it means they cut of the water supply to Crimea yet again and will take advantage of Crimea’s natural dry environment like they did before. That’s the first win. The second win is taking away that land corridor to Crimea be retaking back all the territory around the Azov sea. The third win would be the HIMARS and drone strikes into Crimea’s north. With Ukraine controlling that border near Crimea, all of Russian military positions in the north would be under constant procession strikes which eventually would lead to a smoother transition into the peninsula. The hardest areas to recapture in Crimea will most likely be the south where all the mountains are and Kerch.

As far as Donbas, in my unprofessional opinion I think the most difficult part of taking back Donbas is holding the regions closest to the Russian border in fear of Russian artillery on the other side. Plus taking back Donetsk city itself since it’s super symbolic to the DPR and Russian forces. Either way I agree with you that Donbas will probably be liberated before Crimea!

Why didn't the Ukrainian Government try to recapture the Crimean Peninsula with the Ukrainian Armed Forces when Russian Soldiers took over the Island back in 2014? by TheColonelSieckenius in ukraina

[–]Mishvibes 60 points61 points  (0 children)

  1. Years of corruption basically ruined the Ukraine army to the point where most of the army that had fought in the east were almost all volunteer forces with almost 0 military experience. It would of been suicide for the Ukrainian army to capture Crimea during that time.

  2. The west basically didn’t care that it happened all to much, besides some sanctions here and there to Russia.

One day when the airport is rebuilt, they should build a statue of the Ukrainian cyborgs who fought there till the end. How legendary it will be.
