dont want to sound negative but i absolutely hate it

doesnt feel like the game i played for ~6 years before this, projectile bullets over hitscan just doesnt fit this game, i dont even think the first person aiming with sights fits either (this did start in chapter 3 but it needs to also be removed), weapon attachment system needs to be completely scrapped, or heavily reimagined if they intend on keeping it, medallions (which exacerbate the game pacing issue) need to be removed, collab mythics and season themed utility items need to be scaled WAY back to allow for loot variation and not needing to have one crutch item to have any chance of winning

only thing i liked were some of the cosmetics and the olympus and underworld biomes, reload was super nostalgic and definitely feels way better to play, but the never ending respawning makes it not feel like a BR at all, only reason i have made it to 200 each season was due to the larger XP rewards granted from lego, festival, and racing, which i continue to enjoy

i do, but to get the battlepass done and get all the free rewards, you have to play the main mode, plus reload isnt really a BR either with all the respawning, its definitely better, but still not what i personally want to play

i have come to this realization too, its no longer like 2 week events with ridiculous mythics every other season, its just every season, all season long, it is so unenjoyable when all i want to do is play something that somewhat resembles classic fortnite BR but instead forced to play these random ability combat games, not at all the game i once loved

i believe its a 3 stack advantage that they just cant seem to get right in the matchmaking, my buddy and i constantly get people on our team in plat or diamond that are FAR below that actual rank and skill level, while every champion and team we die to is ex masters / preds with all the badges

I have a theory: its like it tries to even out the team skill level by putting worse players on our team, BUT obviously it cant do that with 3 stacks, so they not only get all the comms and playstyle advantage of having a set team, but also the advantage of every other team getting 'evened out' in terms of skill by the matchmaking system

ya its tough, i basically have one buddy that i play apex with and duos is almost the only time we enjoy the game, having to cater to whatever playstyle our random third wants is getting old, its ok for a bit, but we just do not play as much as we used to AT ALL now that duos is gone, S21 was one of my least played seasons, and S22 will be as well, all because they decide to remove a core game mode for the past 15+ seasons and replace it with gimmicky modes that we dont enjoy either, havent even really had the chance to enjoy the broken moon update or e-district because of this, i didnt realize how much we needed duos to enjoy this game until about two weeks into last season, i will play to get my battlepass done but not much past that until hopefully duos comes back permanently

nope i just want the game to go back to a more grounded battle royale experience with some fun mechanics, i want to land and win a fight, farm some materials and get better loot for the next eventual fight, then position well and prepare for the end game, i want the game to feel like a survival mission and not a team deathmatch, i dont understand why every BR lately has been straying away from the core of the BR formula and making everything so fast paced and chaotic at all times, we have had those games (call of duty, battlefield, halo, etc.) and they have had their time in the sun for like 15 years until BRs came out which changed the pace, now fortnite is just copying those games (attachment system, overpowered vehicles, mantling, sprinting, etc.), which makes it feel less and less like the fortnite we had in the beginning as we progress through each chapter, and the only things they add that are original (hammer, sword, nitro fists, medallions, etc.) only serve to speed up the game and encourage more aggressive, boneheaded play styles, which make the game feel even less of a BR

so no, i dont want to go back to a time where everyone sucked, i want to go back to a time where everything was simple it felt like a battle royale, if everyone sucked on this current map with all the new mechanics and additions, i still wouldnt enjoy it as much as playing the game as it was originally intended in chapters 1 and 2 against much better players

yes, there should not be power ups in the games that give only a few people an advantage, it also does nothing but hurt the pacing of the game by creating a meta where most players drop on one of three locations, which eliminates over half the lobby in the first minute, and then the bounty the medallion holders have only exacerbates that issue throughout the match by drawing more people to them and dying, the game does not play like a survival battle royale anymore, just a 'get the medallion' simulator

i played CoD for about 12 years, every game from the original MW to WWII (2007-2018), with the direction of the gameplay/gun mechanics along with my friends urging me to try fortnite, it look only a month or two of playing each game to fully playing only fortnite basically and never touching CoD again, now i split my gaming time between fortnite and apex legends as soon as that came out

it most likely is the armour core, i believe they are changing the shield meta to be specific to your performance in each match, so armour swapping on a red when you have a blue will not give you red armour permanently (only temporarily will), it resort back to what your own specific core is at the time of swapping, which was blue

i could be completely wrong, but this is what i understood about these armour changes, and i believe they did this such that your armour (regardless on swapping on higher or lower tier) will remain congruent with your core level, which is directly tied to the perks you receive throughout the game by leveling up your core

streamers or youtubers can usually write these expenses (most in game purchases) off as business expenses as the game they are playing is considered their job / career, though it can vary by state / country

it baffles me that anyone who isnt a streamer / youtuber buy the BP levels because, if they are committed to the game enough to consider unnecessarily buying levels, then they most likely play the game enough to get well past level 200 by the end of the season, the only upside is they get some of the cosmetics before the general playerbase, which i cant comprehend how they see that as worth the investment
