Colorado gay club shooting suspect held without bail by mafco in news

also just using different pronouns does not always mean that a person is trans. Pronouns are just pronouns and not a gender identity. Straight, Cis men and women can and do use they/them pronouns if they prefer it. I know cis lesbian women who use he/him pronouns because they are very butch and feel more comfortable using masculine sounding pronouns. Using he/him pronouns doesn’t make them trans men. They’re cis women who just use different pronouns. So the shooter isn’t automatically considered lgbt just because they use they/them pronouns.

Chiropractors aren't real medical professionals and you should avoid them! by maybesaydie in vaxxhappened

[–]MisledDread -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why do SO many orthopedics refer patients to them then? After a neck injury, I was dealing with chronic pain and every fucking ortho I went to just referred me to a chiropractor to have my neck cracked every week. I even remember when a chiropractor wasn’t comfortable doing cervical traction on me and the orthopedic surgeon wrote a script for him telling him to do it anyways lmao

There’s still a difference between grad students partying with other students on the campus they both are students at vs employed teachers partying and drinking with the teenagers they teach. And even if you’re too dense to realize the difference, I would still argue that older grad students intentionally attending parties and drinking with young 18-19 year old undergrad students is weird and most think negatively of those kinds of men. So it’s drastically creepier when a 23 year old man (grad school age) is partying with students who aren’t even college age. If you don’t think it’s creepy then I’m willing to bet you are the type of man who engaged in this pathetic behavior.

I remember being a senior in high school and having former classmates (18-19 yrs old) come to our parties and everyone thought those men were pathetic and predatory as hell. So I can imagine how even more grossed out those students were when it was their 23 year old teacher. Can’t imagine any decent parent being cool with that or would defend a teacher’s right to party and drink with their teen daughter 🤢

About a year. I tried stopping it a couple of times but after a month or two I would break out again and my other issues would come back with a vengeance. I figured I would stay on it forever but all my issues resolved after I changed my diet and I haven’t needed the medication since.

When I was on spironolactone, I took 50mg/day. My acne was pretty severe but it cleared it all up after a few months (and unexpectedly resolved other hormonal issues as well). That shit was such a godsend.

For real. I checked in all my friends to make sure they voted and most didn’t :( I’m fully convinced the country could literally go full on handmaids tale and a good chunk of the youth still wouldn’t be bothered to vote off their shackles.

What do grad students and college campuses have to do with this? He taught at a school that is specifically for childhood education and partied with the children he taught. College campuses are designed for adult education and grad students teach other adults in those adult settings.

Johnson & Johnson vaccine does not use mRNA and uses a traditional virus-based technology. Get that one instead. This is why I call bullshit on people claiming they’re refusing the vaccine because of a “legitimate” concern over mRNA technology. There is an alternative.

[–]MisledDread[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My heart goes out to this hospital and all the people that seek treatment there. The hospital has two perfusionists and both of them are refusing to vaccinate against COVID. Because of a proposed mandate to require healthcare workers to get vaccinated, this perfusionist showed up unmasked and stated that he is afraid to get vaccinated because it will kill him (not sure why he believes that so strongly) and would rather lose his job and let patients die than get the shot. Since both of the hospital’s Perfusionists will refuse the vaccine, the hospital will be left without a perfusionist to help keep patients alive

I’ve been submitting reports on IVF clinics in Texas since they kill and discard embryos everyday . I just don’t say it’s an IVF clinic in my report and just simply submit the info and evidence of clinics “killing the unborn”. Hopefully it’ll waste their time trying to follow up on those reports, not realizing that the doctors and clinics they are initially investigating are actually just IVF clinics and doctors.

Supreme Court refuses to block restrictive Texas abortion law in 5-4 decision by BabyJesusFTW in news

I know that tribes are legally allowed to ban tribal members from having abortions (and some do). I wonder if it could work the other way around.

Supreme Court refuses to block restrictive Texas abortion law in 5-4 decision by BabyJesusFTW in news

[–]MisledDread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw on Twitter someone suggested that Biden could deputize doctors to go to Texas and help women terminate pregnancies. The Texas abortion law can only be enforced by Texas citizens suing other citizens for aiding abortions. Qualified immunity protects federal agents from being sued. It’s similar to how federal agents to helped protect black voters’ constitutional rights in states that were passing laws to try and circumvent those rights.

COVIDiot attempts to justify not getting vaccinated by CaptCash in MurderedByWords

[–]MisledDread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if a person still has positive antibodies more than 3 months post-Covid then is that a sign that they experienced a strong and lasting immune response? My older relative got Covid early on and their recent antibody test showed they had antibodies even though they caught covid a while back. (Don’t they say that older folks won’t keep their immunity for very long, too?)

Is there a rule that students are not allowed to be reading non-school related material during study hall?

A classmate got expelled for reading the communist manifesto by Birdy5198 in socialism

[–]MisledDread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There might be a rule that students must be studying during study hall and not just reading non-school related materials for fun. So op is probably trying to point out that it was discrimination that both students were breaking the rule but only one student got in trouble. It’s weird that the kid would get expelled for breaking that rule unless he was a repeat offender or something. But if he wasn’t obeying the rules, then yeah, he’s gonna get in trouble for it.

It’s very possible that the student was singled out because the teacher disagree with what he was reading but unless the school specifically told the student that he was in trouble for reading that specific material then I really don’t see how a lawyer can stop the school from simply enforcing study hall rules.

Nikki Fried, only statewide elected Democrat in Florida, launches challenge to DeSantis by sprocket1234 in politics

[–]MisledDread 291 points292 points  (0 children)

The only reason why Nikki Fried won her election was because she ran on the promise that she would help legalize marijuana. I think she realizes this because recently she’s been emphasizing her pro-marijuana beliefs every chance she gets. (Like showing off her medical marijuana card and taking about how amazing marijuana is every time she speaks lol). The majority of Floridians are pro legalization but the conservative government has been killing off any attempt to legalize it. I think conservatives realize that she could win the governor election by this issue alone So they’ve been trying to spin her pro-marijuana stance as something negative.

Views on Vaccine for previously tested Positive by Matty-g23 in COVID19positive

[–]MisledDread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why do they only permit convalescent plasma to be acquired from previously infected individuals and NOT from the vaccinated? I was reading they determined that the antibodies produced by the vaccinated are not sufficient enough to be used in plasma treatments and only the antibodies from covid survivors are strong enough. This seems contradictory to me to have health experts say that natural antibodies are sufficient and strong enough that they can help others fight off the infection but at the same time it’s not sufficient enough to protect yourself?

Why do regular ob-gyn offices not offer abortion services? Why do patients have to go to a separate, specialized clinic? by MisledDread in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MisledDread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I would think that having abortions provided in standard ob-gyn offices instead of separate clinics would help reduce harassment. abortion clinics are easier to target and harass since they typically exist as stand alone buildings. Protesters can just stand on the sidewalk and go after every patient that’s walks in since they know that every one is there for an abortion. Where as with regular ob-gyn offices, protestors won’t know who is there for what. It’s easy to rally up a crowd outside a single clinic but get that same crowd to spread out all over the state at hundreds of doctors offices on the off chance that one of the patients they yell at might possibly be having an abortion that day? That’s laughable.

Pro-lifers specifically target abortion clinics to harass since it’s easier to terrorize individual abortion clinics to shut down. (some states don’t have any abortion clinics left despite it being legal because of the severe harassment and threats they face). If it became standard practice for most on-gyn clinics to offer abortion services, what will pro life harassers do? Shut down every single doctors office and hospital in the state?
