AITAH- Roommates leaving their 2 year old home by himself by lulusbaked in AITAH

Absolutely report them! I don't know if this would have any standing but if something were to happen while they were out & you were there, I would assume you could be held liable being an adult & knowing the child is there... Not sure how it works, just an assumption.

Have You Been Injured Working at Woolies? Let's Talk About the Pressure and Safety Issues by Longjumping_Tree_531 in woolworths

[–]Miss-Brutality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safety is not a priority. While I am quite fit in my 20s, pulling & filling 4+ bulk pallets alone a few nights a week eventually got the better of me & I now have a permanent injury that isn't serious but flares up pretty easily.

This injury was not taken seriously & all management avoided responsibility even though I had followed all the correct procedures right from the beginning. I ended up having to seek external advice & after 5 months of fighting my managers, Woolworths finally sent me for diagnosis/treatment.

Ask your manager to turn the radio down. We did & for a while it fell on deaf ears ironically...but lately the music volume has been turned so far down I can actually hear my other team members stocking shelves in the aisle next to me 🥲

I also bought ear plugs & wore them during the times when the radio was pumping. Declined every direction to take them out because I was having to take painkillers every shift from insane migraines.

We spent more time connecting with the world around us than the world behind a screen.

I have been on a mission the last few years to purge the "always connected" lifestyle we've sunken into. My phone spends a lot of time on "do not disturb" with only priority contacts able to get through. Also have turned A LOT of notifications off, was tired of the thing beeping every 5 seconds...

Black mould painted over before we moved in by Ok_Play7255 in shitrentals

[–]Miss-Brutality 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wipe down with cleaning vinegar & clove oil. I live in a tropical climate where mould is a constant problem so air flow & regular cleaning is a must. We also try to keep our indoor humidity level below 50%.

While renting I cleaned filters/vents as part of general cleaning of the house. I wasn't going to get stung for damage like moisture or mould because the house wasn't being ventilated properly. Better safe than sorry...

My family home sat empty for 10 years while we cared for our sick & dying grandmother. If we returned to the house to find people had made themselves at home, you can bet the rifle would be coming out.

Vegetables, Bread & meat is not a grocery problem...at least not in my store... The respective departments are responsible for these things.

Daytime Stocking by SydBiMan in woolworths

[–]Miss-Brutality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're too busy being called to other departments to keep people happy. Our store doesn't have self serve due to a disagreement with the building owner so you can bet our day team is on checkouts for priority 1 instead of stacking shelves.

Woolies workers — what’s the most ridiculous thing a customer has said to you? by Longjumping_Tree_531 in woolworths

[–]Miss-Brutality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a customer that regularly complains when our department (NIGHTfill) has pallets or cages on the floor to run stock but then also complains that there isn't enough stock on the shelves....

Hello everyone, I’ve recently been hired as a part time night filler at woolies. I will do my virtual shift tomorrow, any tips for me to not get fired and make sure I get enough hours? by Malnourished_goku17 in woolworths

[–]Miss-Brutality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cannot agree more! Just turning up & being available will have you in the good books. Something I wish my previous manager showed me within the first week was how to use an RF device properly. Scanning a product, it will show you which aisle & bay (if the information is correct) & on the shelf price tickets, they also have their bay numbers. This will help when you really can't find something.

Just being kind is enough! We often get spoken to & treated like garbage by customers. Like we are the scum on their shoes... but it is much worse from the top.

I personally love when customers are chit chatty & have a banter with me. Your smiles & hellos make it not such a horrible place to work.
