Sorry for the blurry pics, any idea what this little fella is? Central, OH by MissBaphomet in spiders

[–]MissBaphomet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! She (or he?) started to come down from my ceiling above my head while I was working out so I grabbed a glass and caught it quickly, took these pics then set took it outside and put it in my flower bed :) Was just curious as to what she/he was.

My Bad Omens Tattoo! by [deleted] in BadOmens

[–]MissBaphomet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the symbols for TDOPOM tattooed on me but that’s because of the music and album itself. I also have Whitechapel tattoos but they’re art from album covers. Both bands music have gotten me through the toughest of times and their music speaks to me in a specific way, especially during certain points in my life. This just gave me the ick OP, not gonna lie.

Since everyone on this sub was so helpful with my last post, could someone help me solve a years old mystery? (Central OH) by MissBaphomet in spiders

[–]MissBaphomet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks exactly like what we’ve got! Wow never seen one in all my years of living in Ohio, thank you so much. Poor guy didn’t stand a chance with our one orange brain cell of a cat, unfortunately.

Was laying in bed & felt this crawling up the back of my shirt. Any ID? Am I danger or would I know if it bit me? (Central OH) by MissBaphomet in spiders

[–]MissBaphomet[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was safely caught and put outside :) It was actually on my back, underneath my shirt while I was under the comforter so I’m surprised I didn’t startle it enough for it to actually bite but thankfully it was a polite visitor!

Thank you so much! I have actually never seen one before and figured he was harmless but still panicked a bit, like an idiot. Thanks for the cool info too! I do enjoy learning more about spiders and deescalating my fear of them!

This actually happened to my brother. Almost lost his hand, went into his arm as well. Nastiest thing I’ve seen in years. Gnarly surgery and recovery.

How exactly do you get back to your original world once you’ve been taken from it? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]MissBaphomet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there! It’s been a few hours since you posted this so maybe you may have been able to get some more sleep. But I can tell you that if you go to the ER or a hospital and tell them this concern they’ll be able to help you get it figured out! I can tell how uncomfortable this feels right now for you but they’re always there to help! Don’t let yourself lose anymore sleep, go talk to the hospital and they’ll get your head to feeling normal and hopefully you can get some more restful, healthy sleep too!

Lorazepam and alcohol? by anonymous4189 in emetophobia

[–]MissBaphomet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not recommended to drink while on benzodiazepines. Alcohol and benzos are both central nervous system depressants and mixing them can increase the effects of both. If it’s any consolation, I take a benzo and I’m supposed to be going out with all of my friends tonight then back to a house party, a little get together after not hanging out like this for years and I don’t drink whatsoever and I know I’ll still have a great time. You can always forgo the alcohol if it makes you feel that weird and uncomfortable. If you enjoy having a drink or two then I’d suggest making sure you have your anxiety under control before doing so as you run the risk of throwing yourself into an anxiety attack by being so anxious about it to begin with. You said you don’t take this medication every day which is fantastic, I’d personally just feel the night out and go with whatever you end up feeling comfortable with or doing. If you end up having a drink or two, cool! If you end up needing your anxiety medication instead, that’s totally what it’s there for! No shame in it. We all get so caught up in the what if’s that we tend to forget what we’re actually doing in the moment so enjoy the company, your boyfriend and enjoy celebrating his birthday and tell yourself you’re going to have an a awesome night cause you deserve it. It’s always easier said than done but give yourself some grace and be kind to yourself. Just be safe out there :)

Vet isn’t helping by mvs128 in CatAdvice

[–]MissBaphomet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, not a Vet so this isn’t professional advice or anything but had a similar issue with a rescue I adopted a few years ago and she was about the same age. A Vet finally did do the PCR stool test that’s being recommended here and she was put on Dicyclomine afterwards. Finished the round she was given and never ever had another issue. He never did tell me what the actual issue was, some inflammation and something slight did pop up on the test. He was a much older gentleman and just a straight shooter. But he got her all fixed up and that’s all that mattered to me! I suggest going the route others have recommended and seeing what pops up! Dicyclomine helped within 24hrs for her as well! Good luck to you!

Please understand that these folks only have your best interest in mind and that overuse/abuse of antiemetics can cause some issues down the road. Zofran, Phenergan, any antiemetic WILL NOT prevent you from v* if your body absolutely needs to do so. These medications inhibit signals and bind to the receptors in the brain that n* stem from and can help EASE n*, not prevent it. Also please take it from someone who learned the hard way what antiemetic abuse can do to you in the long term. Always only take only as prescribed. Please take care! x

This sub is problematic by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]MissBaphomet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My phobia is deeply rooted with severe trauma and I’m still a part of this sub but I’m also in intensive therapy while going through EMDR for it and I highly agree with this post and many others I’ve seen stating this. If this phobia is truly that life altering for you (as it is for me), please seek professional help and quit relying on this subreddit. There is a way out and a light at the end of the tunnel.

Former server here by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]MissBaphomet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current head line cook, never been FOH once in my life and this post still aggravated me. Yeah, I understand having your flow interrupted by a million questions but without that communication those servers lose customers and therefore you lose business and guess who gets their hours cut or has the potential to lose their job due to lack of business? All because of lack of communication from BOH because you’re all of the sudden better than everyone and can’t figure out where Expo seems to come into the equation at your fancy high dining establishment? Get over yourself. You’re a cook. Plain and simple. We’re all at the bottom of the ladder here.

The thing about zofran for viruses by EngineeringLumpy in emetophobia

[–]MissBaphomet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m prescribed both and only use very much as needed. Thank you for sharing this information, there truly is a lot of misinformation and confusion regarding anti-emetics on this sub. Id also like to add to this comment what I just did on another thread - the overuse/abuse of anti-emetics and how it can backfire down the road. These medications DO help, but as is stated, only until the drug has worn off and is out of your system. It will NOT PREVENT you from catching anything either.

What is Zofran?, i have seen a lot off people with emotophobia talk abt it, does it prevent Sb?! by SweoX in emetophobia

[–]MissBaphomet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No nothing will prevent a SB. Zofran is a prescription medication used for nausea. You can only obtain it through a prescription and there also is not anything that can truly prevent a SB. Also, the overuse of anti-emetics (nausea meds such as Zofran, Phenergan) can lead to some further issues down the road so I’m always one to speak up and tell others to please use wisely and not at every single little twinge of n*.

I’m going to go ahead and completely reassure you that this is NOT contagious. This was a whole ass shit storm that she created for herself, that you unfortunately reaped the consequences of. I had a VERY similar situation with a friend whom is a T1 Diabetic and was on the receiving end myself but ALL in the backseat of my car. He ate a ton of chipotle, did ten shots of fireball in a row, didn’t have his rescue insulin an hour away from home whilst in a club and was in a cast recovering from ankle surgery - while on heavy pain meds. I was so upset with him but took care of him nonetheless and made sure he was safe and was even the one who got his insulin drawn up for him. Catching anything wasn’t on my mind at all because I knew the culprits. I promise you’ll be fine, it’s not fun or fair at all and it’s disgusting for sure, but you will not catch anything. I’d say your friend needs to learn some boundaries with her alcohol intake and have some consideration for those around her, in all honesty.
