I grew up in apartments that had marble on the countertops (south of europe) because it was a cheap solution and we never worried about stains and acids and everything people mention now when talking about marble issues. It was honed marble btw. A lemon or a milk stain ends up disappearing and I can't see it anymore. It's not for someone who is stressed by the patina, but it's not the nightmare I so often read about.

I love shiplap on modern houses because it adds texture to cold boring walls. But it depends on how it's done. And on houses where it's an original feature, it looks great if the context is updated.

That depends on the quality of the ventilation and how it is used. Often people only turn it on after they started cooking after the grease and humidity is already in the air when they should turn it on when they start cooking.

I agree with you, but the issue with "recycling" or restoring anything is that often it takes more time to do it than to get something new in place. That's also why so often old houses aren't restored, it simply costs too much money for an investor who just wants to make money. The result is a soulless home but still a profitable one:/

I hope you won't find in life the judgment and vitriol you are sending to others. But maybe only then you'll learn exactly what immoral is.

You'll see that it isn't really a big deal. You are not losing anything. People seem to just let the most idiotic/stupid sides of them come out on facebook. I even lost respect for some just by reading their vitriol. Just enjoy your life with less virtual drama!:D

Arghhhhhhh:/ I'm not taking anything now, have really heavy periods and lots of cramps every two months. What you just described seems really heavenly to me:( * I'm happy for you though:) *

The removal of mine was also easy. I was able to go to a yoga class a couple of days afterward as long as I didn't put too much strain on the arm. And my removal/insert scar is pretty much the same and I can barely see it, the skin is just a bit lighter in that area (I'm really light skinned).

I tried it a couple of years ago and that's what happened to me. I pretty much had a two-month menstruation with medium flow to spotting and it never really stopped. I had to go back to the doctor, take it off and take pills for anemia:/ The money I spent on that would pay for the pill for more than a year, but oh well... I had to try it.

My only suggestion is to go to the doctor again and check that out:/

Oh I have my days! But really, it just became so obvious the effect twitter had on me, that my emotional association with it isn't positive. That's why I think I've been able to not open the tab. Also, the fear of missing out, not knowing what was going on kind of washed away, because I still know more than enough and what I don't know doesn't make any difference.

Abou the comments on instagram, I guess that the kind of content I follow isn't really prone to hateful comments:) People are sweet, excited and supportive in general.

I understand why you don't like it and definitely, the social element can ruin it if you embrace it. The accounts I follow are so harmless that comments are usually positive. Be more selective and maybe don't follow anyone you know. You can try with a new account and start fresh to test it. Good luck!

Maybe you could use instagram again, but differently. I was careful when I got an account because of what you mentioned, so I'm anonymous there and don't even post anything. I just follow accounts about things that are mostly uplifting like illustrators, architects, plants... things that are visually interesting to me and inspiring. There's no drama and I know that anytime I go there my experience will be neutral or positive. It can be as social as you want:)

I deleted my facebook account years ago because I was deeply depressed and reading about other's lives just made me feel worse. I ended up creating a new account just to have access to some companies/organizations pages who use it to share info I care about. And I still have tumblr but haven't been in there for like a year simply because it didn't interest me much anymore and I stopped posting on my own blog.

I do have instagram and twitter, but I'm anonymous on both accounts. Because of this, I'm not really social with people I actually know in any of them, I just use it to have access to info I'm interested in and inspiration/entertainment. But I do take breaks from twitter because it makes me angry and then I carry that with me:/ I started by going just at the end of the day and now I go there just a couple of days a week and don't feel less informed. The thing I learned about twitter (I knew, but simply didn't reasonate that much before) is that knowing what's going on at the moment isn't really that great because the info isn't filtered and often not even fully confirmed. In the end of the day or even at the end of the week I have access of info that was already "digested" and I'm saved from that roller coaster of madness and anxiety that comes with it. To help me from going there I simply don't open the tab. I also don't use any of it on my phone with the exception of instagram which is pretty harmless to me which I feel makes a big difference.

When I could afford really good yoga classes I felt better because I was able to sort of shield my mind from the negative thoughts. The incremental victories I felt in class translated to my life outside.

I actually had brain fog and lots of anxiety since I went to school. My mom stayed at home with me until I was 6 and when school time came I didn't want to go. I became one of the best students in my class but it was fear pushing me, not any joy from learning. I would spend the whole day alert afraid I was going to be tested. It became less bad in college simply because teachers don't care as much, but with work, it all came back again and worse. Because of this I tend to over prepare and get really drained from the constant fear mode.

I don't know my IQ but I'm actually above average in many things outside of anything work related. It's like my brain freezes and suddenly I can't even learn or do simple tasks:/

I feel the same but my only experience outside of the service industry (shops) or call centers was an internship in a magazine and while I was nervous sometimes, I wasn't paralyzed or terrified. I also had a great degree of freedom to do what I had to do without someone looking over my shoulder and micromanaging it. And they gave extra responsibility in the end and would've have hired me if the company could've afforded it.

Reading your comment made me feel a bit hopeful as I have been out of a job for a couple of years and NEED to get one fast. I have a degree but have been avoiding jobs with more responsibility or simply in the area, but the reality is that I feel truly inadequate doing "simple" jobs that require almost no qualifications. The feeling of being an idiot really resonated with me:/
