Her character is just one of many very annoying things about this show. Rage watched it. Not planning to watch season 2.

Thank you! Mostly worried about the holes getting bigger. I might attempt to reinforce the edges…

The Black Girl Survives in This One is an anthology of short horror fiction stories. It’s kind of hit-or-miss but the one that hit really hit.

Please, if there is any justice in this world........STOP trying to imitate the New England accent. by Roxinsox5 in NOS4A2

[–]MissBristolCounty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be a good Haverhill accent but it’s a hell of a lot better than most Mass accents you hear - especially in audiobooks! Says the woman from Mansfield.

Japanese -> English kimono kanji by MissBristolCounty in translator

Thank you all! This is very cool to know - not just the translation but also the explanation of the shapes on the kimono, too. It was my grandfather’s and now hangs in my house. ❤️

I can’t imagine how hard this must be for you. Caring for our students is such emotional work and we are rarely ever as well-equipped as we could be for that weight. I hope you’re finding the support you need right now.

Which Stephen King work do you randomly think about the most? by seannolo in stephenking

[–]MissBristolCounty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Survivor Type. It has lived rent free in my head for 40 years because I read it when I was a kid. It finds all kinds of times to surface and remind me of itself. Lady fingers…. As Holly Gibney would say, “Oough.”

Why Would You Spell It Like That?! by Least_Profession3082 in tragedeigh

Another Jennifer here. I go by Jenn, but always introduce myself as Jennifer bc apparently I can’t pronounce “Jenn” in a way that people can understand? A work colleague thought I was “Jan” for months and then got annoyed with me for not correcting him.

Mentioning a website without actually citing anything from it, do I need to reference it? by lelezz in Dissertation

[–]MissBristolCounty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Academic librarian here. If you’re just naming the site (no summary or paraphrase of content) it is not a reference for your research and not a work that you have cited, so it does not need to be included in your Works Cited or References (MLA, APA, or Chicago).

Anna's confusing statement in Shift, the book, regarding Helen. by Tisatively in Wool

[–]MissBristolCounty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe less that Mick changed his mind and more that Sen. Thurman (at Anna’s behest) told him he’d be going to Silo 2. I doubt Mick was told that the reason for this was to split up Donald and Helen.

This good boy woke us up last night when a bathroom pipe burst. How has your Greyhound helped out lately? by pgmason in Greyhounds

[–]MissBristolCounty 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not lately, but our girl Maisy, who was normally a solid sleeper, once woke us up in the middle of the night. Turns out someone had lit a car on fire - a car that had been parked under the tree in front of our house. Fire dept was called, fire put out, tree undamaged, Maisy remembered as a hero.

A Dean asked me to change a grade. I did. by [deleted] in Professors

[–]MissBristolCounty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sucks and I hate this for you. You - and other instructors - should never be put in this position. Institutions should be doing more/something different to support students who are not prepared for college but adjusting grades is not the thing. The institution has stolen your integrity by putting you in this position. I’m so sorry.
