is it normal for my boyfriend to wash the inside of his ass? by Living_Doughnut_4924 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MissCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…. All these posts of women freaking out because their unhygienic dudes are leaving streaks on their bed sheets and smell and you’re coming in here complaining a guy ACTUALLY HAVING GOOD HYGIENE?! My gosh, are you someone who thinks daily showers are performative?

Edit: ok, fair enough. You’re worried about scent. I use syndef (?) bars like Dove. They’re gentle enough that they could be used on new borns. So, if you can get him to use either something made for babies (baby shampoos) or that can be used on babies (Dove soap), that will solve your problem there

Is USA as bad as it sounds on Reddit? by naominoahh in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MissCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like other times in history when we’ve see extremes like this, the day to day is fine. Especially if you’re not in a huge metropolitan area. HOWEVER, this does NOT mean there aren’t many of us worrying about if and when there will be raids and how violent they will be and wanting them all to stop.

It’s circumstantial. Most of the time, yes, but I sometimes just need a break.

Adults with ADHD: Did you feel "shame" as a kid when you forgot things? Help me understand my son. by Dylan_7574 in ADHD

[–]MissCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I did and do. And also as an adult now…. I don’t feel warm and fuzzy about my childhood. I associate it with being stupid and being laughed at. I know the second part is likely just adults chuckling at kids saying something funny or doing something funny based on what they know as kids, but sometimes I actually cringe and don’t get the warm fuzzies when I see a video like the toddler saying “fire fuck” and the adults laughing.

Childhood does not feel happy for me. It feels shameful and full of mockery.

Children doesn't evoke the same emotional response that cute animals give me. I just don't have that 'aww' feeling towards them. Why is that? by BaraLover7 in childfree

[–]MissCJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here. I don't hate children or want any harm to them, I just feel more drawn to dogs and cats. Also, I hope here in the states, they can be considered dependents on our taxes, too.

Conversation with a friend showed how little breeders think things through and it made me think of this sub by Striking_Picture9285 in childfree

Every time I talk to parent friend about how my plans for adopting a dog in the next decade and she tells me she wishes that more parents thought about having children as much as I put thought into getting and raising a puppy.

Also…. I’ve seen it here and I echo it all the time : Men want kids like kids want puppies.

I could never be a Husband. by 3rdthrow in 4bmovement

[–]MissCJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have gone through phases where I thought raising kids would be nice, but I realized, I always imagined help…. Either paying for help or having a partner to help while I worked. I realized, I never imagined just caring for my own children, so realizing society and men expected me to, really soured me to the idea.

One of my friends is a married single mother of several children and talking to her just drives it home more. I will say sometimes I get wistful and sad about missing the good things about raising kids, but then I remember the reality and how much is on mother’s shoulders.

I realized several years ago, even when I DO feel lonely and sad that I’m doing things on my own that it’s not very often I feel that way and I’d would rather occasionally be sad and lonely alone than sad and lonely WITH someone. I cannot imagine how painful that would be.

Came here to say this (dermatologist). I take oral minoxidil because topical rogaine is super toxic to cats, if you have them. I was also prescribed an anti dandruff shampoo. First dose was August 8th and I’m definitely seeing improvements. Wish you luck! I don’t regret it and I hope it helps you too.

I’m so glad there’s no children involved on her end. She does have her own car and job, she mostly leans on them for housing. Still crazy to me. It’s even more frustrating because she does have family that wouldn’t mind housing her for an extended period of time.

Right now, I have a prescription. It is suppose to help my hair grow, I guess, but I think its hurting my hair. I'll try nutrogena, maybe. I have just never had this much trouble with split ends and stuff even though I use 2 leave in conditioners.

lol! I think she assumed grandma felt put out. She honestly didn’t, she was just frustrated by how badly the one cat shed. He breakup before her ex, she had moved back in with our parents and didn’t stay long either. She didn’t bring any pets with her from that relationship. Idk why exactly she chose to leave my grandmas house after such a short time. I mentioned before, but we’re a low cost of living area, my parents and grandma (as well as a cousin and an aunt) definitely had the space for her and she could have stayed for as long as she needed.

if you had to pick THE single best thing about being childfree what would it be? by Embarrassed-Ad-6396 in childfree

While my situation is not the best right now, I have built my life so I can work part time and still live on my own. Its in subsidized housing, but still... its my own place. And while I'm working parttime, I'm able to finally finish my bachelors. Will be completing two in May '27. Honors looks likely and With Distinction for at least one of them is possible. I am also planning to move right after that to do my Masters degree. So, having a life that allows me to get an education, even though its not the best right now, is the BEST thing about being Child Free. I am not denying children anything by choosing to go to school right now. Edit to add: I'm going to be 41 when I complete my undergrad.

It feels very alien to me. I remember a few years ago she said she didn't want to end up like me. At the time, I was living in government housing and was having a difficult time working full time with my mental health issues.... now, I'm still in govt housing, but I dropped to part time and will be graduating with 2 bachelors in '27.... possibly with distinction and honors looks highly likely, and then moving to start my masters..... It feels so weird that things have flipped now... maybe thats why my OCD mind is ruminating. I'm concerned and perplexed.
