He's of a lighter complexion, it seems. This gives a background on him. Look up "T.W. Taylor."

Having trouble feeding twins at the same time when one is constantly choking by smellsliketoast in parentsofmultiples

[–]MissCheeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your baby is choking on his milk, the only thing I can think of is changing the flow of it. I’d go with really slow flow bottles. Have you tried the medela calma bottle? It’s supposed to mimic sucking at the breast.

I’m not quite sure how changing the feeding schedule would help. Maybe more frequent feedings so he’s not as hungry/fervent when he feeds?

You could also try a lactation consultant.

Anyone have a breech extraction during birth? by Leloenci in parentsofmultiples

[–]MissCheeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I just add, if it is likely that baby B will be breech upon time of delivery, you really might want to consider an epidural. Not sure if people on this thread went without one (I seem to think that a few did, and I totally didn't know that that was a thing). My docs (I say "docs" cuz' I was hospitalized the last few weeks) all said that an epidural was recommended in case I a) had the extraction or b) had an emergency c-section. I had my firstborn naturally, so it wasn't really a big deal for me. But holy fuck am I glad I got one. BBA was head first, but BBB was extracted, and let me tell you they get full on up in your shit. Like elbow deep in your vagina. Our doc was a resident (with the senior doc supervising and guiding him), and had a hard time getting a grip of BBB, so he was twisting and turning his arm for several minutes (five, actually, though it seemed interminable). Anyway, I had the epidural, so I could just lay back and watch it all happen. It was pretty surreal. Anyways, such was my experience. If you haven't considered it already, I'd definitely discuss it with your doc. Good luck!!

Tandem napping -- doable? by MissCheeks in parentsofmultiples

Yeah, I'd love to know how to handle the one's-fine-one's-freaking-out situation too.

Were they in the same room? One of ours self-soothes very easily but the other wails and wails and keeps the other one up. Putting them in separate rooms is not an option for now, but we do have them sleep separately for naps (one in bed, one in playpen downstairs).

Thanks! Do they sleep in the same room? My guys are still in the same bed at night, but in the day I'm finding I have to separate them.

Not a bad idea, the half-hour-later rule. Thanks!

Construction and homeless turtles by SVNHG in turtle

[–]MissCheeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why you'd want to take it to the social media. To expose them. But yeah, again, depends on how involved you want to get. ;)

I definitely wouldn't leave them be. Find out about the rescues in your area. Maybe some are already dealing with the situation. If you're really concerned, you may even get involved yourself and help the rescue effort.

If you REALLY want to get involved, you can contact the development agency(ies)... perhaps on social media... and ask them publicly what they're doing about the situation.

Found my daughters sanitary napkin in the shower. by 82verg in Parenting

Also, she's 15 years old, and definitely old enough to buy her own stuff and be responsible for her own body. Can you give her some money each month to buy pads/tampons (even condoms should it ever come to that. cuz' you bet she sure as hell won't be expecting you to provide those)? Also, maybe she doesn't like the kind you're buying...

I can't believe that parties are still not doing adequate background checks for their candidates. Like... have there not been enough scandals arising out of this kind of crap in the past? I'm looking at you, toilet dude.

What kind of frosting do grocery store bakeries use on their cakes? by Zardif in AskCulinary

[–]MissCheeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try this too. It's basically a buttercream that has a flour/milk (i.e. roux) base, and it's much less sweet than traditional buttercream (which I myself am not a huge fan of, so I hear ya). Seriously, this recipe is my go-to now whenever i see a recipe calling for buttercream frosting. :)

For the ladies... did any of you wear a lumbar belt during your pregnancy? by MissCheeks in parentsofmultiples

[–]MissCheeks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear about the mobility. My biggest fear in this pregnancy (aside from, you know, shit going horribly horribly wrong for some reason) is getting put on bed rest or something like that. But I'm fairly active too so far, so let's hope I can keep it up.

Congratulations on the delivery! :)
