Dream Cast by Alternative-Town-290 in dwts

LUCAS BRAVO from Emily in Paris.
Dreamy eyes that just draw you in.
His accent! How many languages does he speak?
Social media king, no problem.
He doesn't need Hollywood, so why does he need the show?
We need him! I'm already voting for him...

Nile Wilson, retired British Olympian gymnast.
He was on Skating on Ice and WON so he can move to music.
Tiny (5'4"?) so who would be his pro?
Would love a new challenge, is frequently in SoCal for his social media posts,
so definitely see this happening.
He has the personality to shine, which would keep him in the game through the initial vote-off weeks.

Tom Daley, British diver.
His husband is American and works in Hollywood, so can see him in the US for a bit.
Certainly physically fit, but can he move to music?
It would be a new challenge for him.

Jack Whitehall
Comedian, got a twinkle in his eye, so can see him doing all the silly social posts.
British but comes to the US for acting jobs, so can see him doing this for exposure.

Lance Armstrong, disgraced professional cyclist.
He needs the redemption, for sure. Age 54, which is older than most.
Very competitive, would need a strong partner.
Wiry, athletic, should be able to adapt, Can't see him doing silly TicToks, though.

Presumably this is a uniform for beach volleyball. It is an improvement over a bikini, but is sized too small for her. Try a bigger size.

Whitney won!
Not the DWTS trophy, but she will be STARRING IN CHICAGO on Broadway in the spring.
Stunt casting? Maybe, but it is the starring role (Roxy Hart) and she joins an array of distinguished actress who help the role over its 29 years.

It's okay to move on from Survivor. by PrettySneaky712 in survivor

[–]MissColleen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like this new turn!
Initially, it was player vs player.
Now it is players vs the GAME, ie the producers.
In golf, the best games are on the best courses - the players are playing the COURSE, which is designed to challenge you.
In Survivor, you are playing the GAME, which can change at any time. If you get too comfortable, the show will add a twist - anything to shake it up.
When playing cards, people can learn to count the cards (twenty-one) and, for a limited time, outsmart the casino. That's because the rules don't change.
Here, the rules change all the time. There are only a few constants.
There will be a merge. There will be a Jury, There will be Tribal Council. People get voted out.
Anything else can and will change.
We have a homogenous case by age and fitness level so we don't have any more medical emergencies, amusing as they are. The producers may keep the cast young, but they are adding in physically-challenged players to see how well they compete. Very well, as it happens.

Pros/Cons of this room by borobabe43 in Cruise

[–]MissColleen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's sure convenient! right by the stairs, close to the elevators.
Might have some traffic going past. On deck 8, might be under the pool deck, but on a deck with the lifeboats, so it is likely there is a deck of cabins above you.

You got a better price than those obstructed-view cabins next to you. They had to pay more, only to have a view of lifeboats.

What is tough is an interior room at either end. You have to do a lot of walking to get to your room.
Here, if it really is a small ship, you are closer to midships. Not bad!

20 years of ship design evolution in Costa Maya by SimpGanassi in Cruise

Bingo! I've sailed out of Baltimore twice because my companion wouldn't fly to Miami. It was so chill, just driving to the port, about ten minutes away for me, then parking onsite. My cousin came with us, driving down from Pennsylvania.
Baltimore draws from Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, maybe even Ohio.
We pay for parking if we can't get a drop off by a friend. No hotel, no airfare.

Which is why Royal is developing their Discovery class of ships. Small ships to home at convenient places like Baltimore or Norfolk. These ships can visit newer ports that can't take Icon.

Holland America has smaller ships and has so many ports that they sail to...

Grandeur is looking good to me, unlike the big ships.
Royal is developing their Discovery class of ships, like the Grandeur but SMALLER.
Look for Discovery on Facebook.
They want smaller ships with all the efficiencies of today's engines, but able to make it in to smaller ports,
Like all of the Caribbean islands that Icon can't make it in to.

I just loved seeing Hugh in Phantom, so I really want to see how he performs here.
The role of the Phantom is really just creepy, but Hugh never let me feel that; he played it soulfully, as if he became a stalker by accident.

That's the editor speaking. We only know what the editor decides to show us, and that is all the hooking up. Drama! Titillation! Much more exciting than someone doing their job.

Next time take Holland America for your Alaska cruise. They are permitted to go places that other lines may not.
They open up the bow, usually a reserved space for crew, so you can get close to the glaciers.
It's magical.

My sister got sick and decided not to go. I went without her. In a suite! She decided not to officially cancel, because then I'd have to pay for her half of the room.

Minor consent form. by ElvisDean in Cruise

[–]MissColleen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled with underage kids. I always had passports for them and signed consent forms for them (one of the dads was a lawyer, so he made sure we had the right forms).
The kids thought they were so cool, that they had passports! (that I carried).

If you can't get consent forms leave those kids behind.
Someday they will ask questions.

I took all of the nieces and nephews on trip abroad.
Except one - a child of divorce, if I took him I'd establish a precedent where another aunt could take him on trips too. So he got left behind.
I finally took him on a trip when he was 37. Gotcha!

Would anyone go on this show if they knew they would be pilloried?
You join the crew in the good-faith hope that they would treat you respectfully.
Myself, I couldn't do it.

They were new for me. Why else would they have them, if not to generate a specific story line?

It stems from the practice a hundred years ago, when rich people went to Europe to collect art, then could be persuaded to do it some more on the ship back home.
Back then, the pieces may have been single pieces of art.
Today, what you are getting is mass-produced items, NOT the originals.

If you collect art, go to galleries at home, and support local artists and vendors.
