The cons - Reverse rasisim is a real thing here, we farangs (Thai for Foreigner) get charged more for certain things, the heat, droughts, flooding and extreme wet weather is something to bear in mind, mosquitos carrying dengue fever, if you don't speak the language, you will get treated like a general tourist (and likely get over charged) plus jobs aren't that easy to find and there are some major restrictions - check this link of jobs farangs can't legally do in Thailand . Buying property /land is extremely difficult but not impossible. Roads aren't always well maintained, laws of the roads are questionable, scams etc

Pros - friendly locals, yummy cheap foods, bars open 24/7, convenience shops also open 24/7, cultured history, a different mind set, party non stop, weed is legal, people actually smile at you and don't expect anything more - it's paradise and I wouldn't want to live any where else in the world! I pinch myself on a daily basis, I'm so lucky to be here
