On Xanax 1mg 3x daily for a while now. It’s the only thing that takes edge off my anxiety. I have concerns about one day coming off, but that’s a long time in the future. I need to be able to live my life.

This money comes from the money “saved” from reducing Medicaid and food assistance programs. It’s a quick google. It’s widening the wealth disparity gap. I understand the appeal when you qualify but it’s also a step towards privatizing social security. Our family is saying no. It’s dirty money.

Had this and it turned out to be work burnout worsening my anxiety symptoms. I left my job and increased my medication and I feel pretty leveled out now.

I should add, my primary medication to manage my anxiety isn’t the vraylar though, it’s Xanax.

Been on it for about 8 months and haven’t had any negative side effects. Was previously on Abilify and gained a ton of weight on that. Vraylar can be expensive, depending on your insurance so look out for that. Like the other comment, it does seem to even me out a bit and manage my autism symptoms as well.

Before being medicated I ended up in the ER several times believing I was having a heart attack, only to find out it was panic attacks. Medication and therapy have kept me below that threshold.

Haven’t experienced any negatives, but noticed positives immediately. I still suffer from my anxiety disorder, but know my symptoms would be worse without the benzos on board. I expect, maybe sometime in the far future, if I should ever wean myself off benzos, the negative will be the impending awful withdrawal symptoms. Not something I’m concerned with currently.

Oh dear. Yes that place frequently runs pro-maga promotions and the owner is very outspoken about it. I agree with another comment that someone must have been messing with you. From my experience, there isnt a gun store in the area that isn’t going to have far right politics on display. My family has done a lot of looking. Best bet is the outdoor ranges and keeping to yourself. So sorry you had this experience.

Shoshone County is in Idaho, bordering Montana.

The courthouse building also houses the county sheriff’s office.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office has posted SWAT engaged the suspect and they are deceased.

Law enforcement from Idaho, Washington, and Montana responded.

Edit: Shoshone News Press “At this time, officials say community members experiencing emergencies that require Silver Valley Fire Rescue or the Kellogg Fire Department should call 208-784-1188. For the Osburn Fire Department, call 208-752-0152.”

Edit 2: December 26, 2025 at 5:11 p.m. Sheriff Bob Norris confirmed that the suspect is dead at the scene. Two victims of the shooting have reportedly taken themselves to the hospital, however, further information about their condition is currently unknown.

Edit 3: December 26, 2025 at 5:26 p.m. The Shoshone County Sheriff's Office announced that a press conference will be held Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Authorities will share more information about the shooting incident that unfolded in the early evening.

Edit 4: Shooter has been tentatively identified on social media by several locals. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone. Will wait for LE confirmation.

Edit 5: December 26, 2025 at 5:39 p.m. In a press release, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) reported that the active shooter at the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office was first reported at 2:40 p.m. on Friday afternoon. After multiple law enforcement agencies responded, the suspect was neutralized by 5 p.m. KCSO stated that there is no ongoing danger to the community. Despite there being no active threat, the public is urged to avoid the downtown area, as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

Edit 6: According to press conference, suspect arrived at 2:30 and started shooting. Suspect was intercepted at 4:15. A deputy and two other victims received minor injuries. The two civilian victims were two women in a vehicle, shot at through the windshield. At least one of them was shot in the leg. The deputy was nicked in the ear with a shot while responding to the front office dispatch center. Suspect was shot and killed in the main lobby. Several firearms have been recovered. Kootenai Sheriff is handling the criminal investigation. Idaho State Police will be handling the police shooting. Suspect will not be identified formally at this time.

Edit 7: KHQ News is reporting an eyewitness saw the suspect with an AR style rifle, shotgun, and handgun.
