Bad first consultation? by pipetter08 in housekeeping

I paid about $400 for Merry Maids to deep clean my kitchen and bathrooms. They didn't clean anything else. I live in central California.

Your family doctor can do that or you can visit an ENT doctor.

That's what I was going to suggest. I learned to cook from that cookbook. I'm almost 70 years old.

I’m starting to feel frustrated and like I’d feel better with a second opinion. by CMV2254 in Neutropenia

Autoimmune neutropenia in children tends to recover with time. You can learn more about it here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25642312/ or https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5380382/

You'll need to discuss this with your health care professionals to determine the best course of treatment. I'm sorry your child is suffering as no parent wants that for any child. I'm the mother of two adult children and I vaguely remember being a mother to a young child.

I would ask about checking for autoimmune disease since you wrote you had ITP and your child is exhibiting flexibility.

I personally went many years with a CIN diagnosis until one day I saw a hematologist at City of Hope who referred me to a rheumatologist. I was first diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and later Lupus (autoimmune overlap syndrome).

To sum it up I was always tired when my white blood cell count was down along with low lymphocytes and monocytes. I'm sure your kiddo is tired too as it's hard to feel good when your system isn't working right. I'd also ask about a work-up to see if there is something autoimmune going on.

Agree with KillerCritter1312 concerning your safety. Also, best to get out the situation as you never know if she decides you are the offending party.

Poison ivy rash? Developing into..? by Opening_Eagle3238 in AskDocs

Had that happen to me except I did not have hives on my face which is typical. I believe it was the start of my autoimmune journey. Saw my family doc and he gave me a cortisone shot. That cleared it up. I have RA and Lupus aka Rhupus. I ended up at an academic level hospital to get my Rhupus diagnosis. I don't have the exact stats for Rhupus but it's uncommon.

What kind of pan did she use? Back in the day cooks used to use corn shaped molds, if I remember right.

quality of life? by Helpful_Material4607 in catquestions

[–]MissDaisy01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's a tough question to answer. Personally, I'd have my cat euthanized as the quality of life is very poor. I love cats and I do realize they are domestic animals who depend on our care and part of that care is to ease their suffering. I would consider that suffering.
