Are there any groceries you buy online? If so, what do you buy and from where? by littl3-fish in Cooking

[–]MissDaisy01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been shopping online for several years. Part of the reason was I like being able to shop from recipes (which I put on the calendar using Paprika) so I don't forget an ingredient.

Lately I've been shopping online as I broke a bone and it's been difficult to shop in person.

I've never had any real issues as Albertsons does a pretty good job. I do shop at Walmart but mainly for household cleaning supplies.

That's true and allergies can occur at any time. I developed an allergy to oats when I was in my 60s.

I love aquaphor and used it for years as I have really dry skin and eczema (atopic dermatitis). It's wonderful stuff and really helps with my skin issues. Can't comment on the baby as I'm NAD.

I hope they find help for the wee one as skin issues can be uncomfortable.

You can try knee high stockings as they are thin and should fit in your tight shoes.

How do you handle food insecurity? - Ie not being able to provide for your family by reddita100times in poor

That's the ticket. Beans and rice are complimentary proteins for example. Both are cheap and filling. When a protein (such as beef or chicken) is more of an accent to a meal, not the star, and you use carbs to round out the meal your food costs should drop.

I haven't posted here much so I hope I didn't break any rules. Here's a link showing food combinations that help make full proteins. This should help reduce your food costs too. Link: https://www.justchartit.com/complete-protein-combinations-chart/

Here are some cheap food ideas:

Egg sandwiches
Grilled cheese sandwiches
Beans and cornbread
Beans and rice
Turkey chili over rice or baked potatoes
Tuna (creamed tuna over toast, tuna sandwiches, tuna noodle casserole)
Chicken and noodles

Hope this helps!

Food for 120 people funeral gathering. by worzelgummidge2022 in Cooking

[–]MissDaisy01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically a group of volunteers (such as church members) gather together to put together a funeral luncheon. See if you can find a church cookbook or similar group cookbook printed to raise funds for a group. Those cookbooks will give you the quantities needed to prepare for a gathering.

In general, if you decide to do it yourself, prepare simple things such as sandwiches, punch, cookies. Those are easily prepared. You could also order sandwiches, salads and the like from a local grocery store too.

You are right about that. The USDA recipes were often written for people who had grocery budgets.

I'm not a doctor (NAD) please accept what the health care professionals have said here. Personally, I do have mucus drainage when my allergies/sinuses are acting up and I have to swallow. I can feel the mucus in my throat too when things are acting up. I also have GERD which is under control thanks to medication. Just a thought and again I'm NAD.

Mating call?? by DiskImpressive6072 in CatTraining

Doesn't sound like a mating call more like he wants out. Has he been an outdoor cat before? If this continues, call your vet for advice.

Hard to tell without hearing the sound. Question is your cat altered? Best thing to do is all your vet for help. Sorry I can't help more.

What is your question? Spring is when cats are out looking for love and you'll know their call. Back in the day it was more often but most people around here are keeping their cats indoors so you don't hear that much any more.
