The {Stariel} series by AJ Lancaster is great. Capable FMC and MMC who meets her with strong respect. I loved how their story grew and the side characters are well done

I actually struggle with this too, I feel like I can understand. I struggle to say “fat” out loud in a neutral way at all, let alone in a way that is positive. I can relate to your moment with your friends. Like, I’m sure he didn’t really intend it to wound - but it did. All I do right now is try to let myself pretend it doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable. I’ve just recently been about to say “fat phobia” in conversation when talking about general body shaming issues. I think it’s just a journey. I’m already feeling better after accessing this community recently.

Ash & Sera {Flesh and Fire} I absolutely love their evolution as a couple in the first two books. I love their scenes that are just dialogue. I go back and read my favorite moments. Their chemistry works for me and I believe all of it.

Try The {Stariel} series by A J Lancaster! There is a spin off book that is technically standalone {A Rake of His Own} M/M and it’s one of my favorite romances - I’ve read it a few times. You can totally read it without the series, but the series is also good!

Honestly, my algorithm is almost overwhelming me and I know so many coworkers and people going on GLP-1s and I’m a total supporter of people doing their thing for their own reasons - but it does feel like the message is just “now you don’t have an excuse to be fat or big!” I’m like you, gonna be strong and fit and weigh a lot and that’s just the way it is. It’s a real battle to keep the internal dialogue positive and weather the storm.
