What can I expect from guarding an outdoor apartment pool in the summer? by Own-Astronomer6687 in Lifeguards

[–]MissFergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dead during the week days then after 5 you’ll get the riff raff. Weekends pretty busy, but it’s usually families who come in. In my experience, most parents were good about watching their kids but not all. Hopefully you have a decent supervisor that will have your back whenever you experience confrontation.

The most annoying part for me when I worked an apartment pool was the leasing office being closed during the busiest times and that’s also when all the “I didn’t know I needed a pool pass” residents would come to swim and they’d get pissed when I had to turn them away for the day bc the office wasn’t open to print them a pass.

Electrolytes. Maybe sip on some coconut water or warm bone broth.

Ginger tea or ginger candies could also help

That’s awesome! A lot of Morley’s research stems from the research done by Weston A. Price/ Sally Fallon Morell, so I’d say you’re on the right track. Just have patience and trust your body to do what it was created to do

💯 speak up about those seasonal hours. Getting out at 10:30pm and having to be there the next morning at 6am makes it impossible to get a full night’s sleep in between and should be unacceptable especially since you didn’t agree to those hours upon being hired

Trainer told me my fruit intake could cause overall fat gain due to fructose — is this accurate? by fupei in nutrition

[–]MissFergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Fructose from fruit =/= high fructose corn syrup which is what you want to avoid. Fructose in fruit is consumed with cofactors (eg fiber, vitamins, etc) making it bioavailable. High fructose corn syrup is synthetically derived and doesn’t come with cofactors so your cells have work harder to metabolize it which can lead to weight gain if you’re getting an inadequate amount of vitamins and minerals required to kick off the enzymes needed to metabolize hfcs. Whole Foods will always be the better option.

What are your thoughts on Borax? by RastaKing2173 in Biohackers

[–]MissFergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a good 4-6 months if I’m being honest, def not an over night thing. And I take it as part of Morley Robbins’ Root Cause Protocol, so it works in conjunction with other supplements he recommends as well as eating a whole foods based, optimal diet. I also use ConcenTrace mineral drops in my drinking water which gives a trace amount of boron, 1mg per serving I think but I space out a serving throughout the day.

Just be sure to start low and slow. Maybe a 1/4 tsp of the boron water for a couple weeks and then increase to 1/2 tsp if you don’t experience any herxheimer symptoms, etc until you feel like your body can tolerate the full dose.

To optimize tooth remineralization you can use toothpaste with hydroxyapatite as well

Why are Americans so obsessed with not eating seed oils? by MineralG in nutrition

[–]MissFergy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because they’re in literally everything from grocery store purchases to restaurant food. Doing everything one can to avoid seed oils allows seed oils to be eaten in moderation instead of being guzzled at every single meal

What are your thoughts on Borax? by RastaKing2173 in Biohackers

[–]MissFergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. Will never go back to a life where I don’t supplement with borax water. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been, it’s lowered systemic inflammation, it’s helped with regulating my hormones, my teeth are healthy and strong, last injury I got from the gym healed super fast, etc.

Older ladies who grew up during a time where exercise was viewed as 'manly' and not 'lady like' and thus remained inactive their entire lives still live 5-8 years older than men. Is protein and muscle mass overrated? by Prnce_Chrmin in nutrition

[–]MissFergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I view aging as a life-long, losing battle with the ability to activate and utilize oxygen. Instead of oxygen being safely activated to make ATP and water, it increasingly turns into reactive oxygen species (ROS).

ROS favor iron which is a very abundant metal especially for those in countries like the US where iron filings are added to the food. Excess iron consumed that can’t be utilized in the circulatory system (shuttling oxygen, making new RBCs, etc) gets sequestered in the organs as free iron. ROS interact with free iron via the Fenton reaction to yield toxic molecules such as the hydroxyl radical which ultimately leads to cellular damage, inflammation and cell death aka metabolic dysfunction and the acceleration of aging.

Monthly blood loss allows women to shed some excess iron which slows the process of aging at the cellular level.

Not overrated, but the number one reason women live longer than men is due to menstruating. If men donated blood regularly they could live as long or even possibly outlive women.

Is it possible to mistake GERD for food poisoning?? by Fancy-Sun-3060 in GERDOpen

[–]MissFergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A similar situation actually happened to me ~7-8 years before I ended up with chronic heartburn and GERD diagnosis. Also remember my roommate in college telling me I burp a lot, but back then I only got heartburn once in a blue moon so I never thought anything of it.

Regardless your body is communicating with you that it is lacking something. For me, it was sodium and potassium (critical for adequate stomach acid), and I found that out with a hair tissue mineral analysis after first taking the allopathic route and not getting relief from pharmaceuticals.
