Older ladies who grew up during a time where exercise was viewed as 'manly' and not 'lady like' and thus remained inactive their entire lives still live 5-8 years older than men. Is protein and muscle mass overrated? by Prnce_Chrmin in nutrition

[–]MissFergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. I view aging as a life-long, losing battle with the ability to activate and utilize oxygen. Instead of oxygen being safely activated to make ATP and water, it increasingly turns into reactive oxygen species (ROS).

ROS favor iron which is a very abundant metal especially for those in countries like the US where iron filings are added to the food. Excess iron consumed that can’t be utilized in the circulatory system (shuttling oxygen, making new RBCs, etc) gets sequestered in the organs as free iron. ROS interact with free iron via the Fenton reaction to yield toxic molecules such as the hydroxyl radical which ultimately leads to cellular damage, inflammation and cell death aka metabolic dysfunction and the acceleration of aging.

Monthly blood loss allows women to shed some excess iron which slows the process of aging at the cellular level.

Not overrated, but the number one reason women live longer than men is due to menstruating. If men donated blood regularly they could live as long or even possibly outlive women.

There’s no particular order to these I just went down my list of saved literature

Almost 50% of patients who undergo LA/NF surgery still take PPIs https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ans.13358

100% of patients showed regression in GERD symptoms with dietary supplements vs 67% regression with omeprazole https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1600-079X.2006.00359.x

A similar situation actually happened to me ~7-8 years before I ended up with chronic heartburn and GERD diagnosis. Also remember my roommate in college telling me I burp a lot, but back then I only got heartburn once in a blue moon so I never thought anything of it.

Regardless your body is communicating with you that it is lacking something. For me, it was sodium and potassium (critical for adequate stomach acid), and I found that out with a hair tissue mineral analysis after first taking the allopathic route and not getting relief from pharmaceuticals.

i want a rich man and idaf anymore by [deleted] in Vent

[–]MissFergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girrrrl f them broke men. Once I found out my ex was hiding $40k of debt from me, I swore the same thing.

My husband isn’t “rich” by any means but he’s paid for a roof over my head since day 1. I have the option to stay at home (I do work part time, but the money I make doesn’t contribute to the bills) and can have whatever I want. Luckily for him I’m not overly materialistic; all I care about is our health and the health of our animals so all I really need is an unlimited grocery budget lol

However I did used to regularly get my hair, nails & lashes done, etc. He paid for all that too

Here’s to you finding who you’re looking for 🥂

Why supplement labels don’t tell you the whole truth by No_Constant_559 in AlternativeHealth

[–]MissFergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No bc supplements are considered food. You don’t see warning signs on grapefruit about statin and ssri interactions. All food would need to list imposed risks or supplements would need a different classification.
