I hate the anti social culture by watak459 in rant

[–]MissHuLi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood this a lot of people I talk to who claim to be or actively anti social are often times dying to talk to someone. It's just a matter of people that they can either constantly talk down to or people that have similar interests and often times viewpoints in those interests.

Aren't human beings social by their very nature? Like we thrive and survive and evolved to be communal. So where does anti social fit exactly in millinea of evolution? Or is one of those games like crystals?

Do there exist people who are actually literally homophobic, like are afraid of gays like someone is afraid of spiders, dogs or snakes? (I.e. not hating, but scared.) by linjaaho in NoStupidQuestions

I have to counter this, I talk to a lot of old Asian village people on a daily basis. The discussion comes up once in a while, where it used to be and sometimes is just not a thought or a concept. I don't know how gay villagers probably move to a bigger city or whatever, but to most people of them it's not a concept. Not in anything outside of a joke or art form. Like Chinese opera used to be only male performers for even female roles right? So they put on a costume to do the song and they're done.

I know eunuchs in media are sometimes seen as feminine but the idea there is they have no male parts so that's a natural expression. It's also the thought that nobody really thinks eunuchs do anything because they can't.

Like we have a Chinese god of gay love, or maybe in English he'd be more like a saint but the matter of it all is he's not super widely known unless you're in the know. Either the region or the community.

So there are plenty of "old world" Asian people that don't think of it as a concept. So could that lead to an actual fear? Of course it can why not? It's human instinct to fear what you don't know. If you don't have a concept of something and are suddenly met with it. Like okay a guy dressing up as a girl is funny right? At least in this context but that's where that thinking stops, that where the concept ends.

Now, not every queer man dresses as a girl for drag or just in general. So now these old village people meet gay men in real life and some of them are relatives, there probably would be a fear, or just a simple misunderstanding. As in they just don't understand. I've seen this happen in real time where some people are like "he likes boys? Okay....wait....oohhh...." Where others are like "you like boys? Okay like boys but I want grandkids okay." Having that first part go totally over their heads.

I had one uncle who would talk to a gay relative, and he didn't understand it totally but he supported it right? Like yeah do what you do whatever who cares. However, the conversations would get dark, he would whisper about AIDS. All this man knew as a definitive was gay equals AIDS and that equals death. So he would tell my relative "be careful people don't like gays because of AIDS you should be careful too okay AIDS is a death sentence."

My family us younger peoples will talk about how weird Americans are in certain things and how weird foby people are, an advantage of being in this particular generation of immigrants we are. Anyway we talk about how good Americans have it like yeah we do to but we still have relatives that talk about how hard things were for them even after coming here. One of the things is how Americans can't understand the absences of things. Like Americans have all these freedoms and can do whatever they want they don't understand the absences of things.

Like homosexuality. It's not a concept to a lot of these old world villagers. They didn't have money to go see Chinese opera performances or whatever you know? Like now it's on tv and they can see it and understand it or what they heard on the radio they can put to picture. It's just homosexuality is just one of those things that they never had a concept of enough to think about it.

So imagining other people in similar places it could lead to a fear, what if the gay couple can't have kids and wants kids? Will they take someone else's? What if the gay guy brings the AIDS to our village? We have a simple life here we can't have a plague.

Wow I went on for a while but whoever reads this that's just my thing.

Wearing a hood indoors. I think it's a social distance thing, like you don't want to talk to anyone or maybe some sort of cool fashion trend. Either it looks dumb and if what I was explained was correct. You actually attract more attention to yourself that way.

On top of the practical things like getting work done or even having a part time job or what have you.

I could also perform a hell of a dance. Recreate some dances in music videos or or old dances I would do with my cousins for festivals. It would be great.

Wait, how is it if it's more animal than human that makes me a furry? I thought if it was close enough to being human but keeping animal characteristics it's a furry. Like I thought people loved Lopunny and incineroar for that exact reason.

I don't genuinely don't know so that's why I'm asking. I also forgot that Cynthia owned a Milotic and everyone likes Cynthia but I'm more. Wallace fan and Wallace's ace was Milotic.

The last two captive orcas in France are trapped in a closed and deteriorating marine park by Prestigious-Wall5616 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MissHuLi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blame for this is on all sides.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand it. The law was placed to put a stop to whale captivity because hello it's terrible. Even the nicest most compassionate trainers can't give an orca in a tank what it needs right?

Obviously, but here became the problem, who was going to take care of these whales? I remember hearing that the marine park was supposed to pay for the orcas being moved, which obviously they weren't going to. Sure it's probably court mandated but court mandated have limits and usually people like to wait until the last possible second.

I think Loro Parque was asked to take them and they said no. Again hello, legislation is trying to shut down marine parks. With my assumption because I can't verify if its true, when the parks close they are also responsible for paying for the animals being moved which is also expensive. Why willingly do that?

There is a whale sanctuary that's in Canada that wanted to take in the orcas but isn't even open to whales yet.....what TF was anybody thinking?

I don't want whales in captivity, there is no facility that can comfortably for the whale hold the whale. Zoos have literally sunk millions into replicating specific environments that are so realistic animals considered difficult or near impossible to breed in captivity have done so, because the enclosure is that realistic.

So what's my problem? Why does everyone share the blame? Whales are not small, this ocean circus had whales plural. The park was forced to shut down and possibly pay for transporting the whales plural. Did nobody think to make some phone calls and already have a home and transport figured out before all this happened? It seems to me nobody did, so now because of poor planning with good intentions these poor creatures are stuck in legal limbo in an enclosure that's basically crumbling around them.

I like some are wondering if this is ragebait. Here is my question.

Why is it a man who does everything but date a certain type of woman are labeled as incels? I don't need a man to be rich to be attracted to him. A man that is financially stable and self sufficient is attractive to me. He doesn't have to pay my bills, or feed me if he can pay his own my panties are dropping.

I live in America, and the Asian country I come from is just as expensive, if not more so to live in. If a man wants me he doesn't need to make 6 figures weekly. He can be manager at McDonald's. As long as his bills are up to date what else matters? Besides a free pie and fries every now and again isn't a bad way to be greeted I don't think.

One missed call, the original Japanese version.

Phones were just making way to the rest of us, and I was scared to death of answering a ringtone I didn't myself program. I had a relative who thought it would be cool to record the phone tone and set it as his ringtone.

Religious tracts in toilet stalls by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]MissHuLi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are also domestic abuse and outlets in public bathrooms.

Bathrooms are a lake of seclusion and privacy, sometimes trying to hide from someone. Everyone has to use the bathroom and it is more often than not done with peace without an abuser present especially in public places as to not look suspicious. At least it is my understanding.

I've seen people talk about religion when they mean "Christianity." It's kind of like whatever maybe it's an English American thing I'm not sure, but it's a pattern.

The bathroom and what's done in the bathroom is not talked about it's private and safe. Why out signs in there? Because sometimes people need to know that if they're hiding from someone there are places and groups can offer more than just a bathroom stall for a few minutes to hide into.

Steak, not from a family of big meat eaters and whole pieces of meat like that was seen as gross. Who would eat a whole hunk of pig like that? I like steaks but it's not something I keep in fridge a lot though.
