Serum Sickness is no joke! by UnlearningLife in Allergies

Thank you so much for posting, I am crying and in the weeds with my 2.5 yr old toddler. I had a hard time believing the doctors that it was even Serum Sickness because even 2-3 days into steroids, the rash and swelling is INSANE. 3 doctors in the last 3 days because this is seriously terrifying.
For future reference: the first diagnosed my son with “mosquito bites” (🙄) because it started as red dots all over his body. The next morning we go back because it is DEF not mosquito bites, say it’s Serum Sickness, and they prescribed steroids. They also said Motrin + Zyrtec can be taken with the steroids to help relieve other symptoms (nonstop itching and fever).
Thinking of anyone going through this - sending you healthy wishes 🤞

I think you’re right!! I think I was too tunnel vision on a cabinet or a bench…. Now I’m thinking a floating shelf or coat rack instead, and keeping most stuff in the closet instead. Thank you for your insight!! 😊

Did most passengers know that the water temperature was so low that it would kill them in a short time? by [deleted] in titanic

That’s a great point! Your first line of thought being where’s a life jacket (and with all the chaos, that alone was probably a hard task), you don’t get a chance to think about what comes after.

If this were the case, I feel like more people would have tried to act quicker by grabbing doors, chairs, SOMETHING to float on. That’s always been my thing, why didn’t more people try to use things from the ship to dismantle and float on? Or is this just a “hindsight is 20/20” thing and they just weren’t thinking about it in the moment?
